we stopped off her for lunch, and although the restaurant was full they found us a lovely table in the garden. we had fish and chips, and honestly it was as near perfect as you could hope for! not for those on a budget but definitely a must have for wonderful food and great service!

The rooms let this place down. We felt the room we had was over priced. The shower room was awkward, the loo on a raised plinth, bit dodgy at night. The whole place needs a deep clean and paint job. Shame as the staff were lovely and the food was good.

Couldn?t find a walk-in table for two anywhere else in the area.
Thanks for saving the day.
Great service and delicious food in a lovely location.

What a circus. Won't be going there again!
Staff who although are friendly, seemingly don't know their arse from their elbow and prefer giggling amongst themselves than actually offering customer service. Good start.
Informed when booking that the kitchen opens at 5pm - okay, sure. Arrived to then be told the kitchen opens at 6. Oh no, wait, now it opens at 5.30. Well, which is it? 5.30, it seems.
Two cold roasts arrive, about the size of a starter. Two measly slices of beef, half a carrot and less gravy than and egg cup could accomodate on a good day.
Combine that with a pint and a glass of water... That'll be almost £70. Really??? Yes, really - because they add their own 12.5% gratuity tip to your bill. Look up the meaning of gratuity, people. Gratuity - not mandatory.
But it gets better... Go to settle up and told they don't accept CASH!!! Well, you damn well do today. No, we didn't see the little sign on the door saying you don't accept legal tender. And, if we had? You'd still be paid with our legal tender notes. And yes, I would like my change, thank you.
To sum up, it was like paying through the nose for a cold starter, to then be left waiting for the main event. Other than that, the place itself was nice!

Popped in here for some food mid Sunday afternoon and were really impressed. Great service and really great food for the adults and an excellent kids roast dinner with great portion size. Will definitely be back.

We only dined for lunchtime, fish and chips and a burger. The food was delicious I have to say, the Mushy peas really made this dish stand out well. The haddock in the batter was perfect and crispy, just right. It was a real shame that good food is let down by the poor service. When you walk in the pub three staff members have their backs to you on approach so the first impression is poor, then an abrupt response ?well have you booked a table?. It took a while to get served and other aspects just didn?t go down to well such as complaining about other guests.

Just a mile outside Stockbridge. Lovely location. Good breakfast. I had poached eggs on smashed avocado with mushrooms and roasted tomatoes on the Vine. We stayed 3 nights in a lovely room with an ensuite bathroom but it also had a big roll top bath next to the bed. Would definitely recommend. Almost forgot our dog, Wally, received a goody bag!

We didn't stay.
But the menu is amazing, and the food was exceptional. Staff are warm and friendly, and tge atmosphere is very relaxed.
Couldn't fault a thing.

Was late on Sunday afternoon & couldn't find anywhere to eat in Stockbridge so ended up here. Very helpful & friendly staff both on the phone & in person. Dog friendly pub & food was superb. Lovely staff, will definitely go there again, thanks

I had a lovely overnight stay in a gorgeous room. It was quiet and peaceful and the soak in the bath was great. I had a lovely meal which was fantastic quality and a really varied menu. The staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks for making my stay so enjoyable

*We regularly try new pubs and restaurants but the lack of customer service during our visit and after writing a review is honestly quite shocking and disappointing!
We chose this pub for Sunday roast based on the positive reviews but unfortunately left the place very disappointed with the overall experience and quality of the food, which didn't reflect the cost. The quality of the food was average for the price. Reasons for my rating is because the chicken was dry and lacked flavour, the cauliflower was just cooked so difficult to cut, the roast potatoes weren't crispy or fluffy inside, Yorkshire pudding was dry and also lacked flavour. Prefer to have gravy instead of jus which was given to us. We had to ask for more jus to overcome the dryness of the food. We didn't even get a chance to complain because once our food was delivered, no one checked back or asked if we wanted any more drinks or dessert. We had to ask after 50 minutes left alone, for the bill. We felt ignored because staff just passed us by doing other things. The plus side was the carrot was the best ingredient on the plate and it was a generous portion of food. The actual restaurant was nicely decorated. Unfortunately, we shall not return, even to have just a drink, which is a great shame.

5 of us stopped at this gorgeous place for drinks in the garden during an 8 mile walk. Unfortunately we were served by most miserable, unfriendly barmaid..shame ?
