What a brilliant venue and awesome team. Held a charity boxing show here on Saturday 29th June and what a brilliant night it was.
The team including bar staff and security were incredible and made the difference on the night. Ian the tech guy was phenomenal and so helpful.
Looking forward to our next events at the venue.

Appallingly bad organisation. I went there for a 90s club night and it felt as if the venue and staff had never put on an event like this before. After queuing at the cloakroom for 10 minutes we were then informed that it was full! Surely they knew how many tickets they had sold and in March could safely assume most would bring a coat! People ended up stashing their coats by some screens at the back! The bar area was also under equipped for the volume of people, creating long queues and desperate bar staff scrabbled to set up an impromptu pop up bar on a table at one end! The raised bar area at the back was pleasantly air-conditioned but there were huge curtains separating it from the main auditorium, apparently to shield staff from the lasers, which resulted in an unpleasantly hot dance floor. The ceiling was surprisingly low in this area which help to trap the heat in and create an uncomfortable environment. All in all a totally unsuitable venue for this kind of event which spoilt our enjoyment.

I didn't know the Gaiety bar done food, so to see a post from someone we knew on facebook showing them having a Sunday roast was a surprise. Being keen to try out places for lunch we booked on line for the very next Sunday. We were worried as we were running late due to great south run being on and bus terminating at city centre so tried to call to say we would be late, however there was no way of contacting them or amending booking, the phone numbers on the website takes you through to Deep blue even though it is not for deep blue, (we have let them know) leaving a message wasn't possible either as mailbox or what ever it is was full. We arrived late but hopeful, to our surprise there was only a few people eating, it is not advertised outside to say they were doing Sunday dinners, the Greek Gyros has a board outside so perhaps the Gaiety should have one to, there was a board on the wall behind some scaffolding but it didn't say on there about the dinners and was a bit vague, it didn't stand out either which is a shame as I walk past there a lot and have never noticed it, there is nothing as you walk up the pier entrance either to Gaiety to show you where to go, no signage, so a tourist would not know there was even a room out the back which is a shame, maybe there was something but it wasn't obvious. The Gaiety bar has been done out beautifully, the whole Pier looks great now, so its a pleasant place to have a meal and drinks, some people were just having drinks and enjoying the view, you can sit inside or outside and have great views. The menu looked good and as well as roast they had burgers, small plates, pizzas and kids meals, I wanted the chicken roast and my friend opted for the beef, there was also Pork and a vegan option, the roasts came with yorkshire puddings, roast potato, roast parnips, carrots, green beans and cauli cheese, it cost £12.95 but was on as a special to include a drink for £15, not sure if that is the case every week, this included alcoholic drink, we had a pint of cider and a pint of lager, there was a good choice of drinks. I was full after my dinner and found it very good value, we didn't wait too long for it to come out, no sign of desserts but we never asked and if its not a busy place then maybe not cost affective to have them. The servers were all super friendly and helpful and the dinner was very tasty. With better promoting on the food and the fact of there being a bar it would do very well indeed. The place was clean and tidy which was nice, the ladies toilets does need a bit of focus as the handle on the door to get out was hanging off and the toilet roll holders were damaged and missing and quite a few tiles above the toilet not in place, which did make me feel a bit uncomfortable as it made me think that there could be a camera up there (I have an over active mind!) Hopefully these small issues are all in hand, I wish this place the best of luck, they are doing everything right. I am really looking forward to going back as it really was nice. They have been doing roast dinners since February and are going to do them up to December to see how they go, I hope they continue them as this could just become my new place to go, we just need a few more bars close to the pier now to complete my Sunday afternoon.

Nice little venue. Looks perfect for weddings and little parties.No local food places close by at night though. Felt very isolated.

My partner and I bought coffee and cake on the pier and were told the toilets weren?t open to the public despite us being paying customers. How ridiculous. We were checking the venue out as a potential wedding venue but won?t be returning.

Really good place. Situated on the Southsea pier. Great views, Of the solent. Lots of other things to do on the pier too. Vip service was great to. Friendly staff. You will enjoy your events here.

The location of the bar is perfect to enjoy sea views and the bar staff are polite. However, the manager has a terrible attitude towards customer service. He is bad mannered and does not know how to deal with complaints in a professional manner. Very disappointing.
