Centrally located hotel, with friendly staff who greeted us upon arrival. Fresh clean room and bathroom. Hotel was fairly quiet during our mid-March stay. Really cheap for what we got, very impressed.

The shower worked and there was enough towels. It was comfortable enough. The staff ( Bali) were lovely and helpful. I have looked for the dreadful coffee company. I can't find it. How do they get

AHH the Travelodge that time forgot. It does what it says on the tin, it's basic functional and does the job. It's biggest bonus and the reason I booked it is because it's near the Red Funnel terminal.Now... The restaurant bar was average to say the least, the room was passable but the beds weren't really that comfortable and the bathroom reminded me of one in a caravan in the 1980s..The Car park was pretty limited and very tight for anything over the size of a small hatchback (I had to reverse my SUV in or I feared once the other cars had parked I may never have gotten out again!)It's cheap, does what it's supposed to. And it has a car park.

Great location for the Port terminals. Very nice hotel at budget prices. As we were travelling with large, heavy suitcases (we were initially given a 3rd floor room) the manager seeing how heavy they were, made sure we had a ground floor room. Very clean and just a few hundred yards away from the shopping centre.

Room was nice but bedding was ripped and shower curtain.Nice that you can control the temperature of the room.Felt sorry for the staff member in the kitchen as he was on his own.Nice hotel just a bit of a mess in the street behind.Parking limited. Was glad finally got to try the drink that other hotels have never had in stock.Food lovely.

Good price, clean, friendly staff, shame the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night due to someone smoking weed in their room, and we had to evacuate in the cold rain ?

All in all I was very impressed. But after a very long car journey and horrendous traffic I just wanted to get into my room..I was given the key card to access the bedroom corridor and my room. Did the open the security door. No of course it didn't. So I have to go back down to reception and get it sorted. Receptionist was very pleasant but said " the lock can be troublesome so you need to wiggle it". It really would have helped had she mentioned that to say me the hassle of going. Up to the 2nd floor with my case and then to have to come down and then up again. I just didn't need that.Rooms: Good sized room. Very cleanNearby activities: This Travelodge very close to high street so lots of options for dinning

Centrally located hotel. The receptionist was extremely polite and the room was clean. The problems are the parking and the number of homeless in the surrounding area.Parking spaces are very limited and usually taken up by large vans which arrive late afternoon/early evening. The nearest car park is 6/7 mins away. A notice on the payment machines warned of an intermittent problem with card payments and that cash would be needed if it was faulty. No good if you are leaving early morning and have no cash!Otherwise the hotel is ok. The surrounding area does leave a lot to be desired, but hey it's cheap and it's a Travelodge.

Very good location , wasn?t impressed that when my key card didn?t work I went to reception and told them and without any proof of identity they gave me another key card for my room? what?s stopping anyone saying they can?t get into their room and enter someone else?s?

Our recent visit at Travelodge Southampton Central was not a good one. Checking in went okay, the man at reception was friendly and promptly checked us in to our room. We went up to our room which was meant to be a 'SuperRoom' to find it was the usual Travelodge room with a coffee machine. The website stated extras such as KitKat's & hot chocolate which wasn't in the room. We went down to query this with reception and was told it must've been an error and they'd bring some up, which they did do and I appreciated that. The following morning we had late checkout but was instead rudely awaken at 12:20 by banging on the door, I opened the door to check what was going on to have housekeeping in the opposite room shouting 'checkout was at 12' through the corridor at me. I responded by saying 'we have late checkout' for the lady to get rude complain that 'no one told her' and how was she meant to know we had late checkout when no one wrote it on her sheet. No apology was given after this, I just closed our door and felt very uncomfortable that she could've just walked in.Rooms: SuperRooms aren't worth the price difference. Only upgrade to one if you want to use a filtered coffee machine as everything else is exactly the same.Nearby activities: This hotel is very close to Southampton city centre.

Stay was good. Staff was accommodating, could have a friendlier attitude.Noteworthy details: Parking has very limited spaces, first come, first serve basis. £6 for 24 hours. There is nearby Eastgate paid parking available.Room has cards but sometimes they don?t work, sometimes the machine on the door doesn?t work. Had to get new cards made multiple times throughout our ONE night stay.Lift stopped working at some point of the night. We were staying on the 2nd floor and the parking was in the basement.
