What an amazing cosy hotel. From the moment we walked in everyone was very welcoming and friendly. The beds are very comfortable, the room we stayed in was lovely and very well equipped. Breakfast was beautiful. Every part of our stay was just exquisite. If you get the chance to stay here you have to try their sausage roll, they are delicious. With the hotel being located just a short walk into Southampton town center it makes the perfect stop for shopping and then to unwind. I will look forward to returning here.

Below average lunch for two vegetarians. We ordered the broccoli and cauliflower soup and a side dish of new potatoes with spring onions and mustard. The soup arrived scalding hot - had to leave it for 10 minutes to cool down. Watery consistency and lacking in flavour. Croutons but no bread served for £8! The side dish wasn't much better - potatoes just about cooked and again not much flavour. Not what we expected for the price charged and the reputation of The Pig chain.

Beautiful hotel, one of the comfiest beds I?ve ever slept in (and I?m not very good at sleeping in new beds). Staff are lovely and accommodating and the food is delicious. The only strange thing is paying for the car park if you?re a guest, should just be a part of the cost of the stay.Rooms: Spacious and comfortableFood & drinks: Delicious!

We love The Pig in the Wall. This was our second visit here and found it to be as good or better than the last time we stayed. The accommodations were unique in this historical building. The breakfast buffet was excellent too. TheInn is on the border of Old Town, which makes it great for walking the area from the hotel. Then?it?s a short cab ride to get on your cruise ship.

We popped out of the Southampton Boat Show for a spot of lunch, and found this delightful little gem of a place: the welcome was lovely, the setting great, and the lunch - made up of a combination of little parts - was simply top-notch! Every second spent here was delightful!

Our 2nd visit and we adore this place. It?s beyond cute and adorable. They do ever with such care and thought. Décor fabulous as is the food. Amazing location you literally could not wish for more . The must have is the piggy pan breakfast. All local home cooked produce. The bedrooms are so well thought and and fantastic squishy pillows.

We only stopped in for lunch- did not stay at the hotel. A friend had recommended them for their ?farm to table? food- and I have a sensitive stomach, so wanted to give it a try.We sat at a seat by the window so we could people watch. We shared the goat cheese/crouton appetizer (yum!) and I ordered the tomato soup and the side slaw. The soup has bread chunks and it was wonderfully warm on this cloudy day. It was a big bowl and I could not eat it all. The slaw was pickled cabbage and carrots and I enjoyed it. Hubby ordered the ?streaky bacon? which was a very tender ham steak, and it came with roasted veggies and apples. Very tasty.I had a small glass of wine and hubs had a beer- total was 46 pounds.Service was friendly and efficient. We enjoyed the ?grandma?s house? ambience!!

Delicious food and great, friendly service. My wife shared a taste of her gnocchi and it was hands down the best I?ve ever tasted. I had the slow cooked streaky bacon and it was delicious. Duplicated to achieve minimum essay size. Delicious food and great, friendly service. My wife shared a taste of her gnocchi and it was hands down the best I?ve ever tasted. I had the slow cooked streaky bacon and it was delicious.

Very disappointing coffee -We stopped into the Pig in The Wall for takeaway coffees before our ferry. Our first order was made incorrectly so we ordered again. Second time round they tasted quite unpleasant, very bitter and watery. Premium prices at £9 for two take away coffees, but very disappointing product. Left a sour taste, literally!Friendly staff and lovely hotel however!

Lovely boutique hotel. By far and away the best service received in a UK hotel. When staying in the UK we typically opt for a budget hotel (preferring not to spend much more than £150) so this was a bit of treat for us and we'd decided we wanted to spend as much time at the hotel as possible. We had a fabulous lunch, the food feels kind of like a really really fancy picnic, lots of delicious items on the menu. The room was very very comfortable, a little smaller than one might expect, but that does tend to be the case for historic buildings. My view is that how staff deal with problems reflects very much on overall service, we had 2 issues - they were very minor. Our wine at lunch wasn't chilled, it was replaced in less than 2 minutes with a perfectly chilled bottle and we received a genuine apology, also, the remote for the tv seemed to have been taken by a previous guest, we noticed at around 10pm, the lady on night duty did everything she could to rectify. When we went to check-out the guy on duty had heard that we'd had a problem, apologised profusely before we even mentioned it and dealt with it for us. Those issues were minor and I only mention them as the level of customer care was top end, brilliant. Overall fabulous little hotel, we will be back!

Enjoyed a very delicious meal here tonight for my birthday - I went with my husband and friends. Excellent service from friendly and attentive staff who had the balance between professional and welcoming spot on. The food was great and my husband had forwarned that I have an awkward intolerance to onions and they had kindly marked up the menu to let me know exactly what I would be able to safely choose - I really appreciated this as it made it so much easier for me to choose. The decor and ambience were really lovely.

This is not a restaurant it is a bed and breakfast and apparently may be turned away if you haven?t booked as guests get first priority in tiny dining area. The only meat they sell is pork, hence the name The Pig. They do not sell any other meat types. They do sausages, bacon, pork scratchers, sausage rolls but that is all and salad and deserts.Decor is mismatched thrift finds, and they only play 60s music giving it that vintage feel, like visiting grandmas house.Very kind employees that work there, it?s an all female staff place. Thanks for looking after us, wife loved it.Nearby activities: Nearby activities I found include short walk to ikea, local parks, dining and bars, landmarks, history museum right next door.Safety: Seems to be in a dangerous part of town, the road behind building had young men in fighting and shouting but clean area. There is a car park with a gate so safe to leave your car.Food & drinks: Food was 8.5/10 taste wise just small portion sizing as local farmers so high prices and small sizes.Noteworthy details: All the women who served us were generous and helpful; not too overbearing and asking a million questions which we love in a place.

We enjoyed our stay for 2 nights. It is handy for the cruise terminals, and a 5-10 minute walk from the city centre. Our room was just the right size for two. It has a large very comfortable double bed, with comfy pillows. The room is airconditioned which is adjustable to colder or warmer as required. The room is very quiet at night. There is a well stocked fridge in your room which contains, freetea, coffee, bottled water and and 2 Tunnock tea cakes. The rest, beer, wine chocolate etc are extra. There is a safe in the decent sized wardrobe. The bathroom is a good size with a big walk in shower, with Bramley's shower gel, shampoo and moisturizer. The staff are very friendly and approachable. There is a good sized, secure car park at £10 a night, which is entered through the large black wrought iron gate to the left of the hotel after contacting reception via the intercom. All though we knew what the price of our stay was, we did think it was a bit expensive for what you get. We assumed that the buffet breakfast was included, but it wasn't at about £13.00. But that would be my fault for not reading the info correctly The full English was extra at £17.50 Would we stay there again? No, only because the price is a bit too much for us.

The comfy rooms are very cost but exquisitely appointed with a shower and amenities to die for. The bed is also extremely comfortable resulting in a very good night's sleep.Dinner was unusual but also excellent. Don't go expecting meet and two veg this is more in a grazing style. The selection was good and catered well for both vegetarians and meat eaters alike. The wine list was also good and offered exceptional value.Would go back for sure.

From start to finish, they went above and beyond to ensure that our evening was unforgettable especially the soft spoken girl with auburn hair. As soon as we were seated, we immediately noticed the warm and inviting ambiance of the restaurant. Soft lighting and tasteful decor set the stage for a delightful meal. The service was skilfully orchestrated - effortlessly striking a balance between attentiveness and giving us the space to enjoy our conversation. What truly set this place apart was their exceptional ability to make us feel special and attended to throughout the evening. It was evident that every patron was being treated with the same level of care and attention. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone in search of a memorable meal served with genuine warmth and professionalism.
