Alex is both a brilliant structural engineer and builder who replaced the structural columns at my house. The work was both challenging and done to a high standard with the help of 2 colleagues. Most other companies do not have the expertise to take on this type of work. If you want structural work done on your house, I recommend Alex and his team.

Came to check potentially unsupported chimney stack in the property I was buying. They inspected and confirmed the chimney is unsupported and the cost will be north of 6000+vat to install steel beams. I then informed the owners who hired a contractor to take half of the chimney (party wall) down as it was cheaper, still costing them 3700 and nearly 2 months delay to complete on the purchase.
Now I found that the chimney stack was always there in the bedrooms, but with plaster boards on both sides so not visible.
I expected a proper investigation, but now I'm left with no chimney and ridge beam in two pieces, time and money spent for nothing. Be careful with those people..

EDIT: Quote from my level 3 survey: 'Load bearing chimney breasts have been removed (not seen) to the first floor bedrooms. The loads from above should have been provided with some form of support although this is now concealed within the fabric of the building and we cannot confirm either its adequacy or existence.' Based on that I hired You to check if the chimney is supported or not and you after your inspection concluded the chimney is unsupported and beams need to be installed. If you removed the insulation you could see where the bedroom ceiling is and the chimneys don't end there.

Alex from Structural Repairs did a fantastic job on repairing my lintels. Clear quote, fully detailed, arrived to repair exactly as communicated and once I?ve done my bit on the redecorating, you would struggle to notice it had been worked on. Top job on matching up the pointing. Would highly recommend.

Alex and Pat did an incredible job replacing our bay windows and tying back the bay brickwork of our 1930s house. They helped us think through the best solution given other work planned for the exterior in the near future. They were always punctual, and careful and considerate about how the work affected the family?s use of the rest of the house while the work was in progress. Communication was also very good. Having one company plan and carry out all the work as a single job made such a difference. Highly recommend!

Alex has just completed crack repairs to our garage wall. We were not expecting such a flawless finish: the old cracked garage pillars and walls look as good as new, and we have the reassuring knowledge that the Helifix bars will keep everything in place. We couldn't be more delighted. It is very unusual to find a qualified structural engineer who also excels at bricklaying and pointing: Alex is that man and we 100% recommend him

We had Alex and his team carry out underpinning to a section of our building. Impressed with the professionalism of the whole team. They were very knowledgeable and experienced. Explained everything as they worked, which was much needed as parts of the foundations were quite unstable. Left the site very clean after what is a messy job.

I spoke to Alex a few months ago about strapping back my bay window and re plastering. I am in Denham he is in Southampton. A long way to travel. We had a few chats on the phone and emails were exchanged. We agreed for the work to be completed on 1 October and it was, to an excellent standard.
Alex and Spence were polite and charming. Alex knew how many previous builders etc had let me down and he came to my rescue.
I rate this company highly. I am a very happy bunny. I will use them again if I need any further work doing on my house.

Alex and his team are great! Very professional and we're pleased with the work carried out repairing our steel frame bungalow. After having to postpone booking in with Alex due to Covid-19, as soon as he was able to safely do so he got us booked in and the job completed safely while socially distancing, even though we are miles from Southampton as they are the only company we know of to carry out the work we needed as recommeneded by our estate agents. All communications were clear, quick replies via email and never hesitiated to answer any questions we had.

Structural Repairs Ltd recently completed a job on my house- replacing sagging cracked lintels, repairing cracked brickwork and stabilising and restraining my bay wall using steel rods. They were the only company I could find who were prepared to do the work properly (for example, one other builder told me if he removed any brickwork the wall would fall down so best to just render over the cracks!). They did an absolutely brilliant job and Alex and Dave were so friendly and always happy to answer all my questions and explain what was going on at every stage. When the lintels were removed, Alex called me over so he could show me the inside of my wall and how it was constructed which was so interesting to me. The finished result looks absolutely brilliant and is beyond my expectations.
They also repointed part of my wall, and fixed a hole I had made when decorating (dont ask!) Which wasnt even part of the original job. Im so grateful and would recommend to anyone. Top service.

Really impressed with Alex and his team. Talked me through the structural engineers report for my roof spread and bowing front wall and what was required. Carried out the works on schedule as promised which involved taking the wall down and rebuilding and strengthening the roof all finished to a brilliant standard. Thoroughly recommend this company.
