I have had two failed appointments with Specsavers audiology Totton! The first should have been last Friday 1st September at 2pm! I turned up 5minutes early, only to be told that I should have been in Hedge-end. At the time of making the appointment, I specifically asked for my hearing test to take place in Totton as I work in the Oakhaven hospice shop across the way and could finish my shift and come across! The lady who dealt with me was not particularly sympathetic but she re-scheduled my appointment for the Bitterne health centre at 3.30 today 7th September !I arrived for my appointment only to be told that I should have been there at 3pmThe appointment card clearly stated 3.30, so as you can imagine I am appalled at the time wasting!I have previously had good service in Totton when having earwax removalbut needless to say, I will now be taking my custom to Boots in future.

I just called this number after being advised to by my local branch. I explained that I was in pain, constant ringing in my ears and that I can't properly hear out of it. I was offered an appointment for next Tuesday. OK, fair enough. But when I explained I could not cope with this until next week, I was brusquely told I should "find somewhere else".OK, there's nothing that can be done about appointments being filled-up, but when you're given absolutely no sympathy, no understanding and treated as a nuisance, there is no need for it whatsoever. I would absolutely not consider calling them for help in such matters ever again.

I received a first class service from the two audiologists who dealt with me this week. My ears were inspected for wax or infection, then given a full hearing test, following which I was issued with hearing aids which were tuned to suit how I prefer to use them. I couldn't have asked for better service. Thank you, Specsavers, and thank you to the NHS which makes this service available.

I went to specsavers totton and during my appointment - I ended up getting kicked out because the optician thought I was lying as I couldn?t possibly be seeing what I was! She told me ?I?m going to ask you to leave and you should count yourself lucky I won?t be charging you?.
I was incredibly upset with this experience. I went to another optician and ended up being referred to the eye hospital who sorted it professionally. Would never go back to this branch of specsavers as they made me feel crap. I mean why would I make up answers to a eye test?
Unprofessional and nasty

Finding the place:As a first-time visitor, it was tricky to find. There are two Specsavers on this high street which both say "Audiologists and Opticians" at the top of the store-front. Myself and the man in front of me were waiting at the wrong door: the opticians. It wasn't until the man in front went to check the other store, that we figured out we were waiting by the wrong one. The audiologist store-front did have ear-related posters in the window, once you went over there. But there was no clear signage directing those seeking the audiologists to the other store or vice versa. It didn't help that the Google location pin for the audiologists was entirely in the wrong place by the main road. I have submitted an edit to fix this for future visitors.Friendly, but no masks?Once in the right place, I was promptly greeted by a very welcoming audiologist and directed to where I should sit. I was, however, surprised that no one inside was wearing a mask, having been informed in the information pack (which I received in the post prior to appointment) that staff would be wearing full PPE, and requesting that I wear a mask also, which I did. The two other customers that I saw were also not wearing face coverings. On the other hand, I saw Costa staff nearby wearing face masks. It seemed odd that Specsavers staff weren't.My appointment:My appointment was for ear wax removal. Unfortunately, I was unable to be treated due to my ear's condition being too complex. This is something which I believe could have been foreseen and prevented if I had been well triaged over the phone. However, I only had the initial phone conversation to book the appointment and the triaging happened via a paper form sent to me beforehand and handed in on arrival to the store. The form did have sections where it said to phone them if you answered "Yes" to any specific questions, but none of those had applied to me. Had I known it would be an issue, and had it been a flagged issue on the form, I would have phoned to discuss this, rather than make an unnecessary trip and physically attend. The conversation I had when I got there could have been dealt with over the phone to avoid unnecessary contact for myself and for the staff in the current pandemic situation. This would also have lessened the disappointment that I experienced had it been dealt with earlier via phonecall, as I had a week of expecting to receive the treatment, since I was physically attending and was excited to finally be seen after months of waiting for this day to arrive.Outcome:I was referred back to my GP to be re-referred to a hospital-based specialist. The audiologist did take a look in my ears to see if the oil drops were effectively softening the wax. PPE was not worn for this either, however, which was surprising as she was up close, looking in my ears. She was lovely, though, and adviced me on what I should do next.

Excellent Service, rang up for help to fix a faulty NHS hearing aid. After some on phone diagnostics I was advised that a replacement unit was the best solution. The assistant checked that a replacement unit was in stock and programmed it ready for collection on the same day. From the time of initial call to discuss the problem to the collection of a working replacement was less that 90 minutes, you can't get better then that. Well done & thank you!

Mistakenly turned up 35 minutes late for my elderly Mum's appointment after having struggled to get her there, but they fitted her in due to the next slot having been cancelled, and saved the day! Thank you! ??
