As an American, I love the amount of British food here. Everybody is so helpful and I can usually find everything I need. Plus the prices are a little better than the Tesco down the street

Today is July 1st, 2025. I purchased a bag of tomatoes and upon returning home, discovered that the expiration date on this bag was May 23rd, 2025. A bag of tomatoes, expired by more than a month, was openly placed on the shelf. It is noteworthy that another bag of tomatoes I bought did not have an expiration date label, whereas the label on this expired bag had been deliberately half torn off. This indicates that the store's method of dealing with expired food may involve removing labels and placing items back on the shelf. I am uncertain whether this practice violates UK law. In this particular bag, I found three tomatoes already spoiled. For those considering shopping at this store, please carefully verify expiration dates, and exercise caution with items lacking expiration labels, as they may be expired products with labels removed.

Love the essentials and the service!
I love Sainsbury's Local because it always comes in handy when I need some essentials but don't want to bother going to big supermarkets. They have everything I usually need at home, including some basic ingredients for cooking Asian food.
In addition to this, I particularly must praise the manager at the Burgess Road branch. Evi, the manager, is very helpful, cheerful and polite. She helped me find things I needed and always informed promotion. She also offered the best alternatives to items I couldn't find. She has always been a great help!

Very rude new workers, I've been customer for more than a year ,but today 19/5/24 it's very rude customer service ,0% management ? I want to the eggs section and the eggs was broken liking and stinky already, I reported to them and then they ask me if I broke them or not ??!!!! It's so disgusting the way They talk to me???? I will never ever visit this Sainsbury anymore

Never open on time i waited until 7:15 which there open time is 7am and I have noticed that they closing the door before the closing time which is 11pm rubbish management or I don?t know if this store does the have any manager to keep track of opening and closing time it not just today as it happened quite few times that I visited this storeAnd if you need to get something from the bakery you will need to wait until 9am

Staff was very polite and patient. Good collection of items, however a few more essentials need to be added. The baked goods kept open was concerning to me. Overall a good place to go to for buying groceries.

Some staff just hate human interaction. The costa machine in the shop did not print out the receipt, so I needed someone to help. The staff at the till just pointed towards the self-checkout till without saying anything and giving an unfriendly look. Some staff are nice and work professionally, but this place just lack of standards.
