Great for us yet again. Sadly the kitchen in the bar next door was out of order. Also it wasn't made clear on reception that your room isn't cleaned and bed made each day. I would have thought this was standard, reception didn't ask if we did or didn't was it. Easy was to save some money I guess. Staff on reception were quite pleasant even though they had to keep resetting the card access.

Nice large room, very clean and well decorated. Large free carpark and reception open 24/7 with staff. Tea and coffee, large TV and comfy bed. Hungry horse next door for evening meal.

Nice hotel. Staff in the afternoon were very unfriendly but there was a random foreign to the country looking chap standing outside the reception entrance for 2 hours so perhaps they were just concerned for him. Either way the hotel was excellent. Very clean unlike others in the South West and evening staff were very polite and welcoming.

I recently stayed at Southampton west premier inn and had a fantastic experience. The hotel staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. The room was spotlessly clean, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep.

I recently stayed at Premier Inn Southampton west and I couldn't be happier with my experience. The reception team was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, making check-in a breeze. The cleanliness of the bedrooms was truly impressive ? they were spotless and well-maintained throughout my stay. I would highly recommend this Premier Inn for anyone seeking a comfortable and clean place to stay with a fantastic reception team. The only downside is £10 for early check in

We stayed for two nights, and on both occasions we had to suffer a luke warm shower each morning and an extractor fan in the bathroom which worked intermittently. It makes a joke of the Warning Hot Water signs on the washbasin and shower! Despite complaining about it when we had the first showers, the same thing happened on the second morning and when we checked out there was no one around at reception to complain to. The room was cramped with two ?eaves? coming into the room with mind your head signs on either side making headroom limited. There were no drawers or even shelves to put clothes in, only an open wardrobe which again had no shelf. The room we were put in (144) was a very very long walk away from the entrance and reception and also up two flights of stairs which were dimly lit as one of the main lights was not working. In addition, when we tried to check in a little earlier than the 3pm advertised time the receptionist was very rude and only said we would have to pay £10 if we wanted to check in earlier despite the fact we knew the room was ready. We were not the other ones as we saw at least two other guests in the pub next door moaning about the attitude of the receptionist. About the only positive we can say about our stay was that the room we were in was very quiet (probably because we were stuck right at the end of the building a long way from the entrance)

Stayed here the evening before a cruise and was very pleasantly surprised by the great standards. Clean and comfortable, friendly staff. Particularly struck by the fabulous housekeeping team, cheerful and helpful. We will recommend and stay again

Can?t fault anything about Premier Inn. It?s exactly what we wanted and very happy with everything ?.until breakfast, Having had to get up early to meet family from a cruise, we went down for breakfast. Only to wait for ages to be seen; after finding staff to seat us She was obviously not interested in customer service or customer satisfaction we thought she was very rude and her priority was not the customer. Such a shame because that did spoil our experience

Comfy bed, very clean, good location, nice big rooms, and good value for money - just what we needed for the weekend! The breakfast is also brilliant - lots of choice and really friendly staff both in the restaurant and at reception. We were impressed with all the amenities in the room e.g. mirrors, hairdryer, hangers etc, plus we were provided with an iron when asked. The only downside was it was very hot in the room - but we had a fan provided which helped a lot! We were also woken up by music at about 6am which we think was coming from the breakfast room below us, but we had earplugs so it didn't bother us much. But otherwise, was fab!

We stayed 2 nights over the Bank Holiday in August purely to visit Paultons Park. The location is ideal, a few minutes down the road. The room itself was OK but needed to be cleaned a bit better. There was still talc left on the bathroom floor from the previous guest. It was nice and quiet in the evening, the beds where comfy. A cot was provided for our baby. The breakfast was a bit of a shambles, not enough tables and it was in a room as opposed to a restaurant. There wasn't as much choice as advertised on the menu and compared to the other Premier inns we stayed in. I wouldn't have booked breakfast here had we have known. They run out of space, although we booked in advance. There wasn't enough staff in the room and the 2 ladies working where under a lot of pressure. Reception staff lovely and very good with the children. I would recommend staying for location but that would be all.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Premier Inn Southampton West for our yearly visit to Paultons Park. The hotel is ideally located if you are visiting the theme park, it?s only around a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute drive. The hotel is fine, it?s in a great location but it is now showing its age and in need of a major refurbishment. We stayed here last year, and I?m not sure whether we just got unlucky with our room this time, but we booked a family room, same as we did previously, and for some reason, the hotel has refitted the bathrooms (Not refurbished as they look worse than they did before), with a walk in shower and taken out the baths. I can?t for the life of me understand why, as this is a huge downgrade especially if you have little ones who want a bath after a busy day at the park. Fair enough if you wanted to do this for disabled rooms, or single / double rooms, but family rooms should have been left with the shower / bath tub combo. The new bathroom design felt very cheap, and not at all what you would expect from a Premier Inn, more like a cheap hostel style bathroom with a tiny sink in the corner, poorly painted (splashes of paint on the floor), toilet half hanging off the wall and not fitted properly, and generally just had a very grubby feel to it. Whoever made the decision to change the bathrooms to this design needs sacked in my opinion. Very poor. The rest of the room was as expected with a Premier Inn, only the bathroom we had issues with. As many of the reviews have stated there is no air con in the hotel and it does get very warm especially in the summer, but they do provide you with a fan, can?t really complain about that, really good service. We only had breakfast in the hotel once, it was ok, nothing special, we went to the pub next door the second day for breakfast which was a lot better and cheaper! I would recommend this over the hotel breakfast. Would we stay here again? Yes, unless Paultons invest in building a hotel on site, we will always return to this hotel due to its location, however some major improvements are needed as it does seem to be showing its age now, and not up to the standard of other Premier Inns which is a great shame.

Good points are, easy to find, very quiet and room was spotlessley clean. Reception staff very nice and welcoming. Comfortable beds and line and nice shower with good water pressure. Basic ammeneties in bathroom. Hairdrier in room. USB charger outlet in room. Nice towels. Bad points-very basic room, no drawers space or wardrobe just a place to hang stuff up. Not even a basic box of tissues. Exit to car park has a huge unsitely pot hole that looks dredful and does the Premier Inn brand no favours. TV has basic freeview but is very slow to change channels (upwards of 5 to 10 seconds) basic wifi very slow and patchy.

Comparing to other premier inns I have stayed in this one is rather tired and dated. We were located on the ground floor up in room 40 although the room was big enough for myself and my two children the room was very dark and lacking natural light we had to have the lights on constantly despite it being brilliant sunshine outside. The rooms don?t have air con so it was very stuffy and warm. Despite a fan being provided this still made no difference and the fan was too noisy so not ideal with light sleeping children. I know that?s not the hotels issue. The bed was light sleeping on a slab rather uncomfortable. We was only given 2 pillows on the double and 1 spare. Which isn?t ideal if there was two adults. Breakfast was hugely disappointing. Glad the children ate for free because by the time we got there. There was hardly anything on offer. Pancakes that are made to order wasn?t available due to not having any mix left. The full English consisted of baked beans, eggs, bacon, sausages and black pudding. They ran out of mushrooms. The coissants were too dry and very hard. The Vine pub which is seperate had a great deal on during the 6 weeks 2 mains and 2 children?s got £15. The meal was lovely and only stone throw away. The hotel is ideal for peppa pig world We would stay again purely just for peppa pig world if the price was right. The staff were very friendly and approachable.

Room 50 - Electrics in room were faulty, they was shorting out when lights were turned out. Constantly buzzing and lights flickering. Reported to reception but no spare rooms. Room 24 + degrees at night with windows open and fan running all night. Bathroom plug does not fit sink hole. Bathroom smells of mould, and can been seen on walls and ceiling. Also picked up clean towel from pile which had skid mark on it.

I booked a 1 night stop over night on the way home from 4 days in the Isle of Wight. I had already set my expectations low based on previous reviewers. I have say they was correct! The room was extremely warm (25c) at night and the TV had no kids channels. The paint on the door frames in the corridors was almost no existent and needs a massive over haul. I avoided the miniature breakfast room due to over crowding. All in all I would avoid this one and pay a little more for one close by. It's a shame as the one I came from in Isle of wight was fantastic.
