Unbelievable chaos!! Queuing out the door and could hear everything other customers were talking about (or should I say complaining about). Staff, well what can I say, in my opinion, appalling!!! We need local banks, manned by local people!!!

Absolute chaos! Walk in to the branch on a busy Saturday morning just to be told the counter is not manned! How can a branch in central Southampton have no one manning the counters on Saturday when most of the working population cannot get to the branch during the week. As a first direct customer, who cannot use automated machines at the branch, I will be leaving to move onto a bank that can actually fulfil my needs!

I live in Southampton and have never seen such poor reviews as I have seen here.It?s no wonder that people are so frustrated with banks these days.The level of customer service and appointment times are discouraging.I have seen the list of branches due for closing this year and Southampton is one of them.Maybe it?s this branch? I?m not surprised.

Multiple bad experiences. Recently tried to open a new bank account, the staff at the branch do nothing other than refer customers to the app or phone banking, while phone banking refers people to the branch. Four weeks and three branch visits later (plus hours on the phone) and I still do not have my new bank card. Waiting times at the branch are horrendous.And this is as an existing customer (I've had a current account with HSBC for over 10 years). I cannot imagine how bad it must be for someone who is new.

Took the morning off work and waited for 45 minutes in the waiting area before asking someone if they have an estimated waiting time. They said that they "haven't even started yet" with their current customer who had they had been seeing for 20 minutes and so I walked out.Understaffed and or incompetent. Don't waste your time
