“Yesterday I popped in to look for 2 books I had been recommended online. Unfortunately they were not in store but could be ordered. In the meantime a fabulous lady recommended me a number of books based on what i was looking for. She was so passionate and enthusiastic it was great. I picked two from her offerings. At the till another staff member told me about another book he had read and thought was brilliant and scary called Bonehead. Again the passion for books and helping me was radiating from him. I managed to buy three new books and I'm excited to say Bonehead has already got me hooked! What a wonderful way to be treated. Personal service at its best. I will be back. Absolutely wonderful service. Thank you.”

“Good lift for disabled customers, quite narrow walkways but very helpful staff who are happy to help operate the lift or find items for you. Came here with my partner and we were impressed with the range of Star Wars collectibles and figures, as well as the graphic novel section downstairs!”

“Absolutely wonderful bridal shop with loads of gorgeous wedding dresses and bridesmaids dresses too. Amazing value and a wide range of different options. Glenda was a delight and had a real eye for what works. She found a veil for me (which I hadn't considered as a possibility) that works perfectly! I ended up getting my dress somewhere else but got my veil and shoes here. It was also a very fun experience! Would highly recommend if you are looking for high quality and affordable wedding dresses”

“Fab little shop full of bargains, Theres not many charity shops in Shirley where you can pick up a pair of jeans, tshirt, jumper, 3 dvds and a book for a tenner & still get change. Thank you for all you do”

So sad to see the demise of this long standing retail company to the point where it will no longer be on the High Street.
A truly British institution.
Although this store is not in the list of closures it may happen in time.
Just like other well known names we have lost in recent years.
Times and aptitudes have changed to the point where we no longer seem to purchase the items that they offer.
Hope the staff can get some clarity going forward.
As for the one star reviews here go and check your short tempered personality and come back with some positive comments.”
