Visited to deposit into my account, machine detained £20 front of the staff who was helping me, he reassured me that at end of day you will receive money back into account, on same day other lady has same problems, but I haven't received money , today I have gone and explained the situation, they denied that our machines don't make mistakes, I have told other lady has same troubles, they told there is not written. I have counted 4 times at home but they stole my money which I had the worst experience, then I decided to not deposit again because they are detaining.

Saturday morning, went to Barclays Bank at Above Bar in Southampton. People coming and going with normal business, a small queue existed for more complicated issues. I spoke to the lady at ?reception?. She was a great help and set me up with a meeting with one of the advisors. Didn?t have to wait long before an advisor came and took me to her office. She was extremely helpful and informative, trying different approaches to my problem each time i raised a new condition or a new issue. No problem was too much for her. Wasn?t long before my problem was sorted. And I was ready to go ?but i asked further questions and all were answered quickly, knowledgably and politely. Appreciated her advice that extended beyond my issue once she understood my particular circumstances. Many thanks to the staff there for all the help and advice and can totally recommend using their service. Again, many thanks for the excellent service

Do yourself a favour, don't use this branch and don't bank with Barclays!
I have visited this branch on many occasions and they always prove difficult to do business with and are not focused on delivering excellent customer service, I have never had a visit to this location where I've been truly amazed.
From people loitering, to faulty machines, to no staff present, to long waits for appointments, to difficult interactions with staff, altogether it proves as an awful place to do business with.
The opening hours are fairly average and nothing impressive! I would recommend visiting another bank or building society in the area that care much more about the customers, trust me - you'll be doing yourself a favour!
The bank is also self-service ONLY on Saturday which is not good at all and to be honest, it feels that way during the entire week hence the long queues and waiting periods. Avoid, avoid and, well, you guessed it? Avoid!

During my four months stay, I have few experiences about banks in UK. I should say, the most pleasant experience was at the Barclays Bank. The customer care was exceptionally good. From the receptionist from all the staff I encountered were extremely professional and helpful. Big thank you for the whole staff at Above Bar Street.
