The Silchester fun run is always very enjoyable. There?s plenty to do if you are not a runner and some great scenery if you are.

Lovely flat green field. Used by local football and cricket teams. On Wednesdays and Fridays the pavillion hosts a pop up cafe, popular with the after school crowd. Has a lovely playground. Easy access to silchester common, pamber forest, and the Roman walls.

Nice playground carved out of very large playing field and pavilion serving refreshments, close to Silchester Primary School and car parking. Safe surface. Could do with more play equipment though.

This is an amazing little business that we feel really lucky to have on our doorstep. You will always be met with a friendly welcome. There is a great range of breakfast rolls, alternative breakfast dishes, light bites, coffees, cakes and seasonal dishes. The highlight for the children at the end of a school day is the tuck shop. Usually open Wednesday's and Friday's during high season. Currently running from Silchester Village Hall rather than the cricket pavilion, still offering the same excellent service. Positioned at a great location for the start/end of many great walks or bike rides around the local area - including the woods on Englefield Estate and Silchester Roman Walls.
