Well what a throw back in time. Haven?t been here since the seventies and thought I?d throw my back in time. Was dubious as I looked up the stairs from the penny arcades below, but I was so surprised when o got up stairs. The place was scrupulously clean, I mean the cleanest place I?ve ever eaten and to be honest not was I expected. The menu was old school, burger buns have changed and there is no Sunday list like there use to be. Staff were all polite and the food was cooked freshly, took around ten minutes. Go on, give it a go if your seventies or eighties kid you won?t be disappointed!

Terrible service and staff, was ordering food with my young son who was desperate for the toilet, he was refused use of the toilet by staff member (I think supervisor) until we had not only ordered and paid but our food had been cooked (which was a long time) I have never in my life been told when exactly I am allowed to use the toilet in a restaurant I have paid nearly £50 to eat at, I don't know why I didn't walk out then, thank you so much to the kind customer who heard and gave us her receipt before my son wet himself in the middle of the restaurant, absolutely outrageous and bizarre, we were also refused use of the till with cash because there apparently weren't enough staff members (there were 4 in an empty restaurant) by same rude older staff member (we think name was Barry) who then stood around the whole time chatting and doing absolutely nothing. Finally staff round the food including this same staff member had no hats or hairnets! Will never go again! Steer clear!

Lovely Burger, quite old school, decent service and atmosphere.

I?m glad I read the bad reviews after going otherwise it might have put me off, but we had a positive experience. Yes the food took a little while to come and it would have been nice if they?d have brought the food to us rather that shouting out a number, but my chicken burger was delicious. There were more fries than I could eat and they weren?t greasy at all. The strawberry milkshake was so good!

Food was disgusting the burger was dry and rubbery and the staff, to say lazy and ignorant would be an understatement, i tried to order food using cash and the woman behind the counter refused and told me to go use the kiosk, pure laziness considering they have a cash till AND a sign next to said till stating cash through the till. There was also a guy doing the fries, well picking up old fries from around the tray using tongs and chucking them back in to be packaged into individual ordersOh and let's not forget the best bit NOT DISABLED FRIENDLY yes they have a chair lift BUT you have to go up the stairs to get them to give assistance using the chair lift! NO TOILETS in the restaurant you have to leave your food to walk down the road, overall it was a disgrace of a service from this so called establishment. Don't bother going in here if you visit Portsmouth beach!

We had Wimpy in Germany before we had the other US-Hamburger-Chains. It was a time voyage. But today, the burger tasted too healthy: I cannot remember being bothered with lettuce and tomato in my childhood in Germany.

I believe the manager was very rude to customers when people were asking for the toilets. However the food was good and cooked fresh.Kid-friendliness: Somewhat

Don't bother!..still serving food to the three people in there, but toilets closed, obviously don't want to do them at end of shift so shut them early so they can get off quicker Ordered cheeseburger and chips..took 20 mins,in the end we took it away in a bag..hardly a gourmet meal they was preparing/cooking.Unfriendly and dead atmosphere!,and don't even get me started on the prices..Triple burger and chips meal £17.90..are you serious with those prices!..cheapest meal starts at almost £10..no wonder it's empty!.Had far better memories as a kid of Wimpy.Would never go to Southsea one again..rip off!

Went yesterday 31/07/23 Absolutely terrible!!! Only ate here because it was raining and only place that provided a vegetarian option. BAD MISTAKE! My two children went down with vomiting later in the day ( they had the same meal) We had all had the same food up until this awful meal. Both didn?t finish their burgers but ate all the chips. Should?ve known then that there was something a miss. Called the complaints number found online and unfortunately closed. Left message but will attempt again today. £33 extortionate for three burger meals but was a ?treat? and convenient. Even more so when it caused my children to be ill! Never ever again.

Went down memory lane with my burger ( tasted how I remember. ) really really nice burger. The only slight disappointment was no Knickerbocker glory or banana boat . You can't have everything. Highly recommended, in my opinion better than Mc Donald's and Burger King. Shame not more around would visit more often.

I had two burgers and one was not nice at all, the other was okay. My partner was not impressed by hers either. There were many more staff than customers when we visited (around 12;30), so perhaps they were preparing for a lunchtime rush. The food is very expensive for what you get (about twice the price of McDonalds, but not as good). I guess that it is a tourist area with high overheads as the place is massive, hence this may in part be the reason for the prices. The tables were superficially cleaned but there were dead flies on the windowsill next to us.The toilets are not obvious to find, but when you find them they are just about clean and functional. One room (a children's play area) was being revamped, so perhaps they are giving the place a bit of a makeover. We thought that we would try a Wimpy as has not been in one for years, but based upon this experience I will not be back to this branch at least. It did not appear to be wheelchair friendly as I could see no obvious lift, though it is an old building.
