Staff are friendly but often can be very unprofessional having casual conversations and making a customer wait till they've finished. Also on their phones a lot. There is a decent selection of items but these aren't always labelled correctly and I've bought a number of items that I've taken home and found out they're out of date. Clearly they don't rotate their items as they stock the shelves. Finally, they have been known to close earlier than their advertised closing time nearly on a nightly basis. Their excuse? 'If it's not been that busy then we just decide to close earlier and go home'. Part of good customer service is consistency, and if you are regularly closing early then you should revise your opening times with head office, not pick and choose when you want to go home.

Poor variety of goods. Friendly sales assistants not progressive to higher positions.Popular sellers/ brands not replenished and too often run out. Low/short date on foods. Chaotic layout and poor displays.Disappointing store and out of sync with local business trends and prime sellers.

Good selection and reasonable prices. Loses a star due to the staff often being on their mobile phones whilst serving me and I find offers are often mislabelled, however this is not an issue that is exclusive to Spar.
