Good quality pub food, really nice views of the boats on the quays, highly recommend.
Parking: Right by the Quay side, lots of private boats to admire.

The reason why the food was 3 stairs it's because the fish and the garlic bread was too crispy I did eat it but it wasn't the best the service was ok felt bad for the men just because he was by himself down stairs when their should be two workers down stairs just incase something happens

Another spoons sitting right on the marina at Port Solent. There are numerous tables over two floors to look out over the boats in the marina or you have the same two levels inside to enjoy this lovely and bright spoons. Didn't really get a chance to chat to the staff here very much as it was quite busy, but they seemed as cheerful as usual. The Guinness was good.

The 'Sir Alec Rose' is nicely located in the marina. Most recently, I was disappointed with the portion size of my fish and chips, even though I ordered the larger option. The fish fillet was rather small and thin, and there was a modest amount of chips and mushy peas, I think the chef must be used to serving Ethiopians. However, everything was cooked perfectly; the fish had a delightful, crispy golden batter and was delicious. The chips were crunchy on the outside and fluffy inside, the peas were well-seasoned and of excellent consistency, and everything was served hot. I also like that all sauces are quality branded & not cheap catering rubbish often served elsewhere. Considering the meal cost £11.61, including a pint of Leffe (which is £5.50 alone), the value was very reasonable even given the meagre portion. I especially like the app ordering system, and the food arrived promptly, served by friendly staff. I have dined here several times, and aside from the occasional cold breakfast, I always find "The Sir Alec Rose" a nice place to visit.

This is a well located pub, love the harbour view and is a good spot to smash a couple of beers, can be tricky getting served at the bar sometimes easier to use the app, only let down is the swarm of flies that hover around the bar clearing station.
