Not friendly enough x food could have been hotter x not enough time allowed between salad bar & main menu

Came for dinner on a Saturday, was not particularly busy. I made the mistake of ordering the simply chicken dish which, as other reviews have said, wasn?t particularly good with dried burnt chicken, underwhelming vegetables and a questionable jacket potato that appeared to have been waiting to be eaten all day.. wish I?d have read reviews on here first and chosen another dish. My friend enjoyed hers meal so one out of two isn?t bad. Plates were taken away and we were asked if we wanted the bill? Said no as may have wanted a pudding. I did have a pudding later and when i had eaten around 2 spoonfuls, we were asked if we wanted the bill?? Never on a meal out have I been asked if I wanted the bill whilst eating the meal. We both felt we were an inconvenience and were basically being booted out. Would not return.

Great restaurant with fabulous marina surroundings. Our young waiter made our visit more enjoyable with his sunny, friendly and knowledgeable personality. Our food was great. Toilets could have been cleaner A smaller appetite/ senior menu would have been nice.

Fantastic food and what a great service from Nathan and Christopher. Both myself and my wife had a great experience here. A perfect end to our day. Stanley (our dog) loved the sausages.

Never again will we go to a Harvester!! I had chicken with jacket potato and veg. Chicken tough, veg overcooked and seeping in water (were obviously frozen), jacket spud precooked, and tasteless. The salad was minimal choice. The server was very nice, as were all front of house staff, and my meal was taken off the bill. Hubby had similar with his burger and chips. Very very disappointing lunch in a beautiful setting!! There is no excuse for poor food aside from a poor chef or poor chain of commands.

We were sadly disappointed by the inflexible lunch menu arrangements and the very long wait for food -nearly 30 minutes.

Awful experience today, table was pre booked for 10.30, sat down, waited 15 mins and had to ask someone to order food. Ordered food and drinks, came within a few mins, had to ask for toast 10 mins after the drinks arrived. Wait for about another 20 mins and food had not arrived yet, cancelled the food in the end as we had to be somewhere else, didn?t think we would be waiting for nearly an hour for breakfast. Normally harvester are pretty good but today was awful.

Absolutely appalling. Salad bar was a mess with hardly any food. Dirty crockery everywhere then piled onto a table in the middle of the restaurant. Paid £11.99 for a chargrilled chicken breast with salad. Chicken was lukewarm burnt and dried up, Bowl was fully of baby gem lettuce three pieces of cucumber , a few pieces of thnly sliced peppers and spring onion. Waste of money.

Been to The Harvester, Port Solent, a few times in recent months and I have to say there is nothing to complain about at all. The lunchtime menu is varied catering to all tastes and the pricing is excellent. All the staff are very helpful and I love that you can take things off or add to any choices. The salad bar is still brilliant and something I always enjoy. The food was cooked well and nice presentation. Going back, yet again, in a couple of weeks. Can't keep me away.

I was taken here by my son's, as an early father's day treat, having been to a few harvesters before, and not having a great experience,I was a little apprehensive, however ,our server was polite, attentive and funny, however my 2 sons did play up to her, which I think she found quite , amusing. I had breaded mushrooms to start, which were lovely, and then had the , chicken and rib combo ,which also was very nice and tasty, followed for afters ,with a nice caramel carve, which was delicious and sickly and the same time, all in all a very good first visit,to this Harvester, and would be happy to return.

At first the scenery and the service was excellent. Salad bar was ok but few things were empty, even though it was'nt that busy....anyway my point is this..one of the meals was so dissapointing i can't beleive that the dish was just under £20.00 and not only the steak was tough but the cajun chicken was just chicken and the cracker jack prawns...just 3 on plate...value for money...nope..quality nope...spoken to the waitress about this and she said that she we will take off a pudding from the bill....anyway pudding went and gone...delicious but when it came to the bill..the pudding wasn't taken off....now it was my birthday and we had similiar problems with fareham branch about there quality so we thought this branch will be better...nope...so Harvester..you can offer your 10% voucher next time we go to the nearset branch again..but really...what is the point....you need to urgently have a look at your cooking procedures because steak was cooked incorrectely.....but the lack of effort..presentation and not only quality but value for money....i won't come back to harvester any more..so disspointed .....again!.

The salad bar was awful. Nothing much in it. Lettuce, cucumber beetroot, tomatoes, corn, pasta potato salad and colesaw. Food OK. reasonably priced. staff lovely. Good place to take the kids.

Was looking forward to our meal, hadn't booked, just decided to go in as it was arround 12.15, only a couple seated. Pleasant atmosphere, waitresses were friendly. Menu didn't seem to have changed in the last couple of years, was a little dissapointed. Ordered, food came relatively quickly & plenty of it, it just lacked heat & flavour. Used to go regulary but will not be returning any time soon.

This Harvester is very good. Superb setting overlooking the boats, and a really large restaurant to with upper floors. We had pre booked which is recommended as there were 45 minute waits and we were seated quickly. Very friendly and efficent server. Good choices on the salad cart however not topped up on the croutons which was a shame but I will still give this 5 stars. Our food was lovely and enjoyed my chicken skewers, followed by a treacle sponge for dessert. Unlimited soft drinks of all different flavours of Pepsi. Good to catch up but so impressed with this restaurant and will be back one day

Never been to a Beefeater before but this one was right opposite our hotel so booked our evening meal here ,it was very good and the staff were very good especially Sandy who seemed to be rushing around serving everyone with a smile on her face ,nice to see a young girl enjoying her job instead of the usual bored look some restaurant staff seem to have, well done young lady!
