Friendly service, kid friendly. Nice fish, nice mushy peas but.... the chips!!! Possibly the driest and worst chips I've had from a fish and chip shop. Suspect they may have been transferred in from their next door takeaway - the timing would have been about right for this. Given the price I'd expect better and will never return. Shame.

Very expensive. You have to pay for ketsup mayo and other sauce. Long queue, not enough staff to serve you especially weekends when there are too many customers.

My family recently went for a fish n chips meal as we have done many times before at Deep Blue on South Parade Pier Southsea. They had cooked the fish in stale burnt oil and the fish was burnt on one side. This place has wonderful views and is in a good location, but this place is in need of an experienced quality control manager and a chef who takes pride in his/her work. This is a place that now takes your money before service. But if you are not happy demand a refund. Because when it comes to food that we need to live and enjoy. Don?t stand for anything less than perfect. Especially with these prices today. It?s not right and it?s not fair. When going to a restaurant it is not a place where I want to experience stress and upset. Deep Blue sort yourselves out and do your job, but if you can?t provide customers with a good experience then it?s best you all pack up and leave.

Wow would win awards for slowness of service in the restaurant. On a Rainy and fairly empty day with 5/6 waiting staff it Took 20 minutes for someone to come take our order; in the meantime heard lots of others complaining about how long it was taking to get their food. Not quite sure how it took so long to get fish and chips but they really are great at taking an age for whatever unknown reason - certainly contenders for slowest wait time for ?fast food??

Service was slow staff didn't seem to know what they were doing. Only half our food order taken.Drinks and food left on the counter was luke warm .and expensive for what it was. We had to ask for the table too be cleaned before we ate.We would not recommend this restaurant and would not visit again.

I ordered a glass of cabernet sauvignon for £8. It was warm. I was told they hadn't got any in the fridge but would give me another glass in 10 mins when it was cooler. I said that it wouldn't be cold enough in 10 mins so was offered ice cubes! I said I wanted a refund for the wine but they tried to tell me that they couldn't legally do that! I was offered a cold glass of pinot grigio, which was not very nice. The food was OK, although they got the order slightly wrong. Not impressed and would not recommend.

We visited on bank holiday weekend and it was really busy, seemed quite understaffed but service was as quick as they could do and the food was lovely, fresh and hot. I think the girl serving I think was called Lexie and a lady cooking, service was with a smile and order perfect. Will be back, we all enjoyed it x

Took our niece out for lunch. Friendly waiter rushed off her feet. The manager behind the bar could see how busy it was but was just randomly doing a small job when loads of people around us were waiting for service. It took 20 minutes for our drinks to reach the table. My diet coke tasted like soda water. The lady at the bar went to find out what was happening and took 10 minutes to come back and say nothing was wrong. She poured another one but it tasted of sofa water. A table opposite us were waiting for someone to get there bill and went up to the till but where told to go and sit back down. There were not enough people working the floor. Very poor management and unorganised staff. We decided after 30 minutes of waiting to walk out. I have never walked out of a resturant before. Really disappointing. Someone needs to be brought into manage that place properly. There no strong leader.

Very nice looking restaurant on the pier with ok food, nothing special, and slightly over-priced for the location. The waiting staff were absolutely run off their feet, working their best to take orders and serve tables. The kitchen staff seemed to work equally as hard although a little disorganised. We had issues using the preferred method of ordering (do-it-yourself online), and a server did come and ask if we needed help when she finally had the time but we sorted it eventually. The food then arrived 50 minutes later! The next table to us had a similar waiting time. The management seemed to be having a work meeting in the restaurant, adding to the pressure on the extremely under staffed place, by ordering meals, ignoring the fact that there were numerous uncleared tables needing attention. They could have spent 5 minutes of their time to lend a hand but no. Too long a wait for food and terribly understaffed, I felt really sorry for the servers and wouldn't return any time soon.

Found by chance and we were really pleased we stopped by. Visited with my partner and two young children, enjoyed the food, chips were lovely, service great, decor lovely and very clean. Pricier than the takeaway on the pier but it was a lovely place to eat on a rather blustery summers evening. We would definitely visit again.

Very disappointed, first in restaurant, chips had been reheated slightly, very dry, onion rings lacked batter. Had to pay up front. £16+ for fish and chips. Complained and the waitresses said sorry did replace the chips and offered a free drink in compensation. Spoilt the start of our holiday would think three times before going there again

Great value for money with good sized, very tasty food. We had 2 Senior fish & chips plus a kiddies cod bites & chips. All made and served by friendly and helpful staff..

Disappointed with fish and chips, greasy and unusual taste to chips Girl that served us very polite and helpful Asked if we would be able to use toilet in restaurant even after spending £20 told no manager of restaurant won?t allow take away diners to us them ! Ridiculous

Checked with google and your website. It clearly stated that takeaway is open until 22.00 on a Friday. Arrived at 21.30, and was told "we're closed". Disappointed and hungry

Very disappointed with the lunch of cod and chips, batter was thick and fish portion small, chips tasted like lunch time reheats limp and brown not hot at all, considering this is the flagship of Deep Blue restaurants the food is very poor quality. We waited half an hour, it wasn?t busy only a few tables, wished we had gone to takeaway as chips looked golden and freshly cooked. Would not return again,
