I am so disappointed and dissatisfied by the customer service and work I received recently.
My car went in for an MOT which I did not mind because I was able to use my Blue light card to secure a small discount - I am a key worker and need my car for work. My car (BK66AHG) initially failed the MOT. They did not communicate that to me until I contacted them. James (ginger hair) was the person dealing with my quote for the required work. When I called and spoke to James he advised that I needed £700 worth of work to be carried out on my car. I was hesitant to have that much work done because it was so expensive. He went through the list and told me that all the work was needed. Oil was needed which was added to the tank before the MOT was carried out - I had to pay for this separately. I was not contacted to let me know they were doing this so was not given the option to say yes or no. We were not told that this was being added until after I called to see if the MOT had been completed. Even though I had said that the £700 was expensive it didn't stop there - a full service was added to the original quote which took the amount to nearly £1000. I said I could not afford that much money over and over again on the phone but the price still stood - I said I would call them back. I called them back after speaking to my wife and asked that the service be removed and I would pay the £700. It was not until I checked the MOT details after the works had been carried out that I saw that the list of works I was told needed doing for the MOT to pass were not needed. It would have cost a fraction of the price and with the cost of living being as it is and the way my wife's (AO58NZA) car was treated previously I would have thought that better care would have been taken to ensure customers were not lost and better care taken.
My car went in on 2 October for the MOT, Saturday 5 Oct for the work to be done, and back in on Monday 7 for the retest. When it came to the retest there was an issue with the lifting equipment and the IT. I received an email on the day I was due to pick up my car after the retest which suggested that the work had been completed. I went in to pick my car up just after 5pm but was told that It had not been retested because of the issues. During all the occasions my car was in I never had a phone call to let me know the progress of the work on my car or the issue with the IT and equipment which put me back another day collecting my car. It was retested on the Tuesday and again I had to call the garage to ask if it had been done and if I could collect it that day. I went to pick up the car and met manager Scott who apologized for the delay and added that the middle wheel cap had come off of one of my wheels but could not be found. I was then told that they would try and source one for me but a week on and not had a call to update me on this.
I have never been so disappointed with a company. My one worry I have when taking my car for an MOT or any work is that I would not be treated fairly and be taken for a ride and it seems that this has been the case for me in this instance. I will not being taking my car back to Portchester Kwikfit and am hesitant to take it to ANY Kwikfit places for any work to be carried out going forward.

Two or three guys not doing very much, but didn?t have time to fit me one tyre that I could have left for an hour or so, wanted me to book in for the next day as too busy! Went to Portsmouth Exhaust and Tyre Services down the road who sorted me out in less than 30mins.
