I can't praise the staff enough. Yesterday I needed to cater for someone with coeliac disease and someone with a peanut allergy. I phoned to ask about the use of peanuts, and assumed it would be a no-go for being gluten free. How wrong I was! The lovely lady who answered the phone said they were more than happy to cater for both allergies and that it would be very easy for them to do [although the orders do need to be phoned in or given in person rather than using the website, which means cash payments only]. I went down in person to place the order, and was shown exactly what they do to ensure cross-contamination is avoided. One of the kitchen staff came out to explain that the gluten free chow mein would look slightly different because no soy sauce is used as it contains gluten. The allergy friendly meals were clearly labelled, and the food was hot and delicious. My daughter was hesitant at first and only ate a small amount because the noodles in her chow mein looked like normal ones, but once she realised there was no reaction, she ate the lot! I am so impressed with the help, knowledge and communication from the staff. I highly recommend The Golden Boat, and will be a very happy customer for many years to come. 10/10

We?ve never had a problem with these, we order at least once a week and have done for a few years.
We ordered at 6:10pm tonight, we rang at 8 to see what was going on, to be told it will be another 45 minutes, so almost 3 hours!
I explained an even longer wait isn?t acceptable, so cancel the order and refund me.
I was then told ?YOU HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL WE CLOSE FOR A REFUND? as they are too busy!
We considered ourselves good customers, no courtesy call to say they are behind on orders, and worse still, no apology!
We will NEVER order again, never had a problem with their food or the delivery drivers, but tonight showed their true customer service!

Writing this review whilst sat in golden boat for over an hour waiting for food. 1.5 hours from telephone order to food cooked is bad.

The food is delivered promptly and delivery ladies are always so friendly. The food is amazing. Tastes so fresh, good portions and is delicious! If your still looking for your Chinese this would be the one! Not going anywhere else.

Our regular Chinese! Love it!\\nWe go pretty much every week, foods probably a 7.5/10 and it's priced fairly.\\nWe always enjoy it!\\n\\nThe side dishes aren't the best, but all the mains I've eaten or seen are good so we stick with them.\\n\\nThe ladies in there are always lovely, and we certainly aren't going to stop going here any time soon.\\n\\nNo clue why there's so many negative reviews!

I?ve lived in the area for many years and have regularly changed Chinese takeaways just to make a change. However, I don?t think I?ll be changing again. The food is fantastic and the service is great. It?s nice not to wait hours using just eat and not paying fees and high delivery charges. Using their own web site means we can makes changes and ask for items to be left out of certain dishes. They also oblige this. They send prawn crackers with every order and occasional freebie drinks and fortune cookies are also a nice added bonus. A definite 10/10

First time here and it the food was really tasty. Quick service and food piping hot. I believe it?s been under new management since December 2022.

Always fresh and tasty. One of the few Chinese takeaways in the area that serve tofu dishes and they are always friendly.
