Firstly the good news. A well located hotel with 20 mins easy walk in the town centre. The room and bathroom was comfortable clean and of reasonable size. The shower had great pressure. Loved this.
Then the not so good news. Our room only had one set of towels. We explained to reception. She said she'd put some towels in later. She didn't. The windows are sealed shut. I hate that. Then the temp control didn't work. Then reception had to activate it??? We found a pair of socks by the end of the bed.
One more thing. My gf was asked for her name. We have stayed in premier inns for decades. We have never been asked for the spouse's name. Was it because she isn't British?? If its a policy. Is it a new policy, if so when was it introduced ?

We were going to my Grandsons wedding the next day. We arrived at about 8 pm and met our family there. They tried to get a meal in restaurant to be busy and told no so we ate in bar . The licensing law for opening times in Britain our 11am to 11pm or you can open 24 hrs . We were having a drink when the barmaid said at 9.50 last orders and closed the bar at 10 when asked why the reply was it is to busy and when we went for breakfast she said the same thing but we managed to talk her into getting breakfast

Stayed over weekend of 8th Feb this year. We have been several times as it is close to family who live here. The staff are consistently excellent and very friendly and helpful in both the premier and the beefeater.
The premier itself is a bit tired but clean and the parking is free which is a bonus.
Noteworthy details: Free parking and ease of finding

If they try to put you upstairs in the main building, be prepared for a musty room. I was in room 128 in December and it smelled musty, and I was in room 115 in January which didn't smell at all, but their obvious attempts at covering up the mold problem hadn't been touched up in a while. This Premier Inn needs a big helping of TLC because it clearly hasn't had any in a while. I don't think I'll be going back.
Rooms: The rooms seem to be of a reasonable size, with only the most basic amenities. Premier Inn no longer cleans occupied rooms unless you request it before noon, and they no longer provide clean towels every day. There is a hair dryer, a kettle, and an old Freeview TV, and there are spare pillows on top of the wardrobe (which has six hangers) if you want two each.
Nearby activities: There is a BP (M&S) garage and a McDonalds nearby, everything else is a 10 minute walk away.

Lady at the front desk was friendly.I was given a disabled room which was in need of a total makeover, very depressing! Bathroom felt more like being in old hospital.
Now the worst bit was the dreadful WiFi or lack of. Complained at the front desk and she upgraded to ultimate WiFi which normally costs a extra £5. This was just as bad. I wouldn't of bothered if I had any 4g reception but somehow had none in my room. How can a hotel in this day and age have this problem.
Rooms: Very dated and depressing.

Could go with a bit of an upgrade. Showers old fashioned and fixed, carpet a bit tired. Still, with their £45 offers on, not a bad place to stay the night and conveniently located off the A3 with a short walk to the restaurants in town

We stayed here over the weekend as visiting friends. We checked in fine and was given a room in the main building. We was right down the end of the corridor & Approaching our room 206 there was no lighting I noticed outside our room. Like other reviews I read previously we noticed a slightly damp smell, it wasn't too overbearing but noticeable . We were situated on the motorway side so we wanted to make sure our heating/cooling system was working. Sadly it didn't turn on. So we headed back to reception. The lady on the desk promptly sorted this and gave us a new room, this time in the other building left outside of reception. I must say this was so much better. Newer , modern rooms and definitely warmer , we felt comfortable straight away. I feel the rooms in the main building are in need of modernisation.
Slept well , beds comfy and lovely soft bedding. However I woke up with awful neck strain as the pillow didn't agree with me.
Breakfast we opted for full English. Was fairly busy as it was Saturday morning. The hot drinks/juices and continental were well stocked.
The two toasters were situated in the corner, which wasn't ideal as you had to squeeze past a table and then you'd have to squeeze back past the people queing to make their toast when the toast was finally ready. I feel this could be moved to a place with a bit more wiggle room.
McDonald's and M & S food are a stones throw away.
A good stay overall, quiet nights sleep would stay again if in the area. I'd throughly recommend a room in the outer annex building. Photo 1 was from our first room and photo 2 is the room we moved to.

The room was fine, standard premier inn. I found the initial interaction with staff a little abrupt and had to ask for info such as where breakfast is etc. Also we were staying in a family room in an annex and were told we could only have one room key which was a pain. We did have a problem in that the second bed wasn't made up and no towels etc. When we went down to reception and spoke to a different member of staff these issued were addressed quickly and professionally on what loked like a busy night, thank you for that.

Spacious rooms and basic facilities but good value for money.
Could do with a bit of tlc but don't let that stop you staying there.
The beds are so comfy and the heating system works very well.
Excellent location as options for breakfast on your doorstep.
Safety: Card access to all corridors and rooms.

Bellow expectations for a premier Inn, a little noisier, a couple of things not working. Pillows not quite as you would expect, maybe a bit worn out.
