I paid £10 for a jacket potato with cheese and beans which was the size of a small new potato. The potato was black with the consistency watery, I think it was made the day before. All the other food coming out looked fabulous. Another table also had jacket potatoes and they were a decent size. I should have sent it back.

Cafe set on a cliff overlooking the sea. Dogs allowed. Average prices, food was OK, a female friend had a pasta dish and commented how small a potion it was, similar to my curry which served in a large bowl, the curry looked like it had been slopped all over the already soggy rice. Tasty but small and not well presented. The ham, egg and chips the others had looked good with more reasonable portions. I recommend the Dorset Apple Cake for dessert, very tasty. My wife had scone and raved about it.

Lovely relaxing place. Great cakes and pastries. Dog friendly but don't allow water for them inside. Staff are lovely.

We come here regularly & sit outside. Because it was cold chose to sit in but weren't made to feel so welcome inside with no food, just coffee. Shame as it was not full.

We had a Saturday lunch with our son and his wife who travelled from Brighton. Their meals were pretty good looking but our burgers were the worst, cheapest burger possible with one lettuce leaf(small) and virtually no relish, dry and unappealing, handful of chips. Won't bother to go again better off at McDonald's!

We had an excellent cream tea at a fair price, very quick service.

I saw this cafe on the web and really wanted to go. We parked and walking towards the cafe we said to each other, ?Lovely. Just what we wanted.? The location is perfect, by the sea and the cafe is beautifully done. Very inviting.
I wanted this to be great. I did. It wasn?t. A tough review to write because I know that people make gut instincts and then rationalise them in their heads. I?ll try to explain?
After we walked along to ?Pebble Beach?. As we opened the doors the guy said ?Welcome. Good morning. How are you doing??, with a big smile. As we walked further in another waiter said something similar. The first guy showed us through the venue and offered us anywhere to sit, explained that there was outside seating. Even the maintenance guy who was fixing a table created some rapport.
In contrast, none of this happened at the Beachchomer. The impression we got was begun by the greeting, or lack of it, as we approached the ?wait to be seated here?. It felt like customers were an inconvenience.
Continuing, the sausage bap arrived. A couple of bits of dry bun with tasty sausages. Not presentation. Just on a plate. The red sauce was the vinegary stuff. Cheap.
Hospitality is hard. Covid was particularly hard on independent places like this. I get it. The problem is that what sets independents apart from the chains is how you make customers feel. We felt unwelcome.
Parking: We parked on the street about 50 metres away.

What a jewel of a place, and right on my doorstep. Great food, service and views. Dog friendly and a warm welcome.
Can be victims of their own success and hard to get a seat!
Definitely worth a visit!

Great for lunch. Food over a wide range of prices from Cornish Pasties at £5.00 ( which we had - good) to full cooked meals.
Apple cake and clotted cream - recommended.
Parking: Plenty of parking in September but very expensive. Some free on road but full at lunchtime.

Was raining, overpriced, good service, food ok, parking bad, pebble beach next door better food for same or slightly more in price ( it has a Michel star). But the waiters were friendly here.
