Great pub, lovely warm greeting, friendly staff. Food typical of Greene King managed house, very tasty but not particularly special. Beer is well kept, as you would expect. Dog friendly and masses of parking.

We called into the pub knowing we had not booked a table at around 3:15 on a Sunday.
The greeting was not at all welcoming.
There were a considerable number of tables that were available and not being used in the restaurant area but on arrival we were informed that they were all booked out for lunch. We were advised we could sit in the bar area or the garden but the garden was not shaded and the bar area was extremely hot.
I could not imagine for one moment that bearing in mind the time of day that the large number of empty seats in the restaurant area would both be filled and managed to be serviced within the time we would have been eating in the pub.
This is not the first Chef and Brewer that we have been into where this has happened and can't imagine how much custom these must be losing due to this policy.
It also must be a business/company policy and not local as it has happened at other pubs in the same chain.
Surely it would be better to welcome customers to use the empty tables rather than leaving and going to another establishment, which is what we chose to do.
As there was 4 of us and not a large party we could easily been accommodated and would have spent in excess of £100.
Surely with times as they are, any business is better than no business and all custom should be welcome not just those that book a table as it is also not guaranteed that all those customers will turn up.

Lovely roast dinner in glorious sunshine in the new forest , very reasonably priced for Lyndhurst, we have eaten in a few spots, sneaky pudding after was delicious , great setting and staff were amazing , big shout to Katherine who was out server , thank you guys we will be back

Great pub, great food good beer!!
Stopped in after cycling through the Forrest was met with a warm welcome from the barman Luke, sat outside in the garden food was quick , hot and delicious we had a couple of the lunch dishes , scampi and a toasted vegetable tart , lovely service from Muriel , followed by some great puddings caramel sundae and a brownie , just what we needed

Beautiful pub, restaurant and hotel, the white rabbit had something for all of our group.
Lovely setting, with great food , the lamb shank was great and the toad in the hole was a great choice. Rooms are clean and tidy, the service was warm and friendly Dan was a great server full of local knowledge , would highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit the new Forrest .

was going on a road trip and was feeling a little light headed, pulled on for a cool drink and was served by the manager dan, super nice chap, helped me find a seat in the shade and made sure i was okay before i carried on driving. will definitely be stopping here again, all the staff was super friendly, and will have to grab that dans number ;)

Came here to eat as I thought all the food looked very nice online and was very impressed. Me and my girlfriend got the chicken burger and signature burger which I can honestly say that they have to be one of the best burgers that I have ever had. Would definitely recommend going here, the staff were very friendly and helpful as well.

Great experience coming to the white rabbit, staff were excellent and the fold was delicious and the stay was comfortable and the atmosphere was perfect would recommend to anyone wanting to go away to the new forest for a weekend break.
