Stopped in during a cycle ride. Staff were excellent and kind. Snack lunch of smoked salmon baguette and chips was excellent. Toilets were clean. Quite a few other cyclists mixed with locals gave a nice atmosphere. Will definitely return in the future.

This pub is a great find hidden in the forest we had food that was one of the best pub meals we have had and the bonus was the good selection of gluten free meals on offer. Will definitely return when next in the area. Booking advisable as it does get busy.

Been here before in December food was really good but sadly this time the fish an chips was the worst I have had in years batter too crunchy an covered the smallest amount of fish so all In all all you get to eat is batter which tasted bland.
Mentioned to the girl who served us she then told the lady in charge but didn't have the decency to come over an apologies customer service very poor have really let themselves down.
Choose something else if you go but sadly due to lack of personal customer care won't return wasn't worth the money and 2 of us had the fih and chips so wasn't just a one off.

Expensive drinks

Lovely pub which is located just round the corner from where we stayed a few days in the New Forest. The food is very expensive but it was good for an occasion. We had an evening meal here mid-week and it was nicely busy, not too many people but enough for a nice atmosphere.

We had booked ahead for a Thursday lunch. It was busy when we arrived. It took a long time 10 minutes for our drinks order to be taken and then another 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive. That was with chasing up too.
The menu was very limited. We placed our order for food quite quickly and were warned there would be a wait. It was a 40 minute wait. The food when it came was fine.
It?s a shame they haven?t the staff to provide an an acceptable level of service. I can?t imagine what it is like when they are busy.
I won?t be returning as I am sure there are better places to eat in the area.

We came here for a family birthday dinner, with six adults and four children. We were made welcome, very well fed and very well looked after.
(I only allocate the fifth star to pubs with a real cider, but in all other ways this house is five-star).

Have often driven past and wondered what is was like. We cycled there as a group on a tour of the local pubs.
Had a lovely Thai green curry and it was served with a pint of Clarksons Hawkstone lager! What a great combo
The interior of the pub is spotless and had a welcome feel to it . The bar staff are very friendly and the service on the food was very good

Nice looking pub, good food and friendly efficient service. We were cycling a loop as a family from Brockenhurst and this was a just bit off that track. Involves a bit of hill, but that makes the pint at the end taste even better. I?d say it?s advisable to book as it was quite busy even on a Monday
