We stopped at this pub for a quick drink while out walking. The food going to other customers looked amazing so we decided to give it a try thr following day... that day was today and OMG what a meal. We all agreed, there was 4 of us, we were all impressed with our meals, the portion sizes are large, the taste and presentation was just amazing. The price well worth it. Definitely worth a try. We had fish and chips and chicken burger..... not one of us finished our meal but not one of complained about a single thing.
Thank you to The staff at the Mailman but especially TO THE CHEF amazing, this pub has an amazing chef in you..... I think you deserve a pay rise, you are well worth it.....

Fantastic find in Lyndhurst! A lovely pub garden with a great atmosphere. My son has a peanut and sesame seed allergy and the staff were very efficient and careful in allowing him to enjoy some yummy food! Thank you!

Beautiful pub, so welcoming and cosy. Staff were really friendly and the food was delicious! Unfortunately the burger fell apart as the base of the bun was soggy.

Lovely pub the food totally surpassed expectations xx salad was glorious, burger and truffle chips absolutely fantastic, camonbert with chilli jam lovely. I would absolutely recommend eating at this pub

Had a chicken burger with bacon and side portion of chips and the misses had the crayfish sandwich with soup and salad.
My burger was exceptionally good. Amazing flavour and nice toasted bun. The chips were some of the best chips ive had in ages. Perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
The misses really enjoyed her sandwich. The only thing I could say was that the soup needed more seasoning but apart from that, a really lovely pub lunch for us both and pleasant customer service at the bar. Will be back to try another burger at some point :)

Stopped here while cycling in the forest. Sandwiches were tasty, would be good to have other options but the quality was high. Friendly service and pleasant country pub.

Great place to eat. Wine there to do a psychic supper. Love the food and the atmosphere. They had lovely booths in the garden. Such a great venue. Come along and support the new owners.

Stopped here to get out of the rain, it was on good Friday staff very attentive and friendly, TV on silent for sports and music in the background not too loud.

Relaxing atmosphere and great service. I have allergies and they made sure my meal was safe for me to eat. All the food we had was high quality and delicious!

Just stayed here for two nights and can't fault anything. The room was perfect and the staff were incredible in both pubs. We have had the perfect getaway and would definitely be back again if ever down this way again!

I asked for a potato with prawns , it had sweet potato , bamboo shoots and tasted like a Thai curry but cold ! It was most unusual so I sent it back. I explained I was thinking it would be a simple Prawn Mary Rose , however this time it came out covered in Dill! A slice of lemon would have been better!
I didn?t eat the food. I?m baffled how such a simple dish was messed up.
The girl that served me was great.
