Didn't have food this time, just a drink. Lovely pub, nice comfy chairs, somewhere you really want to spend time. Have eaten here before and the food was lovely.

Just OK.
Interior of pub is lovely, garden is ok.
We had Ciabattas which come with chips or salad. Ciabatta was dry and tasteless ( jerk chicken wad not jerk chicken. Tasteless.
Salad was nicely dressed.

Had to wait for food for nearly an hour, no apology for wait when food arrived, will probably not return to this pub

We felt the combination of poor and slow service, combined with mediocre food, small portion sizes. We as a family would not recommend. It took an hour for food to come out and we had been at the point of asking for a full refund and walking down to the forage.
The price point for the food is very high. The food and service do not reflect the price being asked.

Popped for food, first time in Lyndhurst. Was really impressed with quality of food and cleanliness of this pub. Would highly recommend.

We always book for the Sunday lunch and were not disappointed again. Plenty of meat, lashing of veg and the Yorkshire puddings emence. You do need to book.

Took my dad for a late roast on father's day. The service was really good but the food was average at best. I wouldn't recommend going for a roast around 5, the food felt little undercooked, chicken was small for a £20 roast, little disappointed with the food today. Overall had 2 pints which were lovely with great view of lyndhurst highstreet. We will return again and try the roast when its more fresh early afternoon.

Me and my wife booked here for Sunday lunch. My wife's lamb roast was the best she ever had. It was cooked perfectly! I had the pork belly which was also cooked perfectly! Both dishes came with veg and potatoes and a massive yorkshire pudding!! There is the option of miniature deserts which came with a coffee. We thought this was a great idea as it we couldn't manage a large desert! Again delicious sticky toffee pudding and brownie. All the staff were freindly and welcoming and there was a great selection on drinks! Thank you for a great meal!
10/10 would recommend!

Lovely old pub, apparently very popular with the locals. We came there to have a meal after visiting New Forest. We both really enjoyed the food. Seems it is less expensive than other pub restaurants in town.
