First time trying here for breakfast. Very friendly staff, quick, efficient and engaging. Breakfast was good, a tidy and friendly environment, nothing outstanding but above average and a warm atmosphere. I did find it a bit odd at the end though, that the menu items on the receipt do not add up to the total, and the bill was more than I had expected, I felt this wasn't handled very well when I returned to query this, which is totally justified. The gluten free options are clearly marked and they do do gluten free bread.

I'm a regular. Perfect cafe blending traditional and modern. Not pretentious and no greasy spoon. Owner is very friendly. Staff attentive. Great food sourced locally. Good price. Breakfast and all day options.

Lovely service, food and service. Dog friendly. Our dog was well looked after andserved first with a bowl of water. Excellent breakfast too

Very popular cafe right on the main road through town. We both opted for the cream tea which was nice although the scone was pretty small. My daughter tells me that the breakfast is very good too.

Lovely cafe on the main street. A few seats outside although the traffic was quite busy when we were there so sat inside. Seemed a popular place and the food was very good, nice and relaxed, good service.

What a super team of lovely young ladies. Really friendly, professional, and just a pleasure to be served by. Great menu choices with veggie and vegan options. The food and drinks were lovely and the service was unbelievably quick with no compromise on quality. Well done ladies you are doing yourselves proud - thank you xx

Nice cafe, good food with reasonable prices. Staff very friendly. Had the ploughmans and it was what it should be sharp/sweet/creamy. Cheese scone was great. Criticism that it should have thick cut/home cooked ham when it seems reformed shop brought. (Even if that adds to price or option to upgrade) Wife had chicken salad which was tasty. Generous portions. Coffee was good too.

I've lived in lyndhurst my entire life and have tried every café, but Peggy Mays is without a doubt the best in the village. Great coffee, good food and amazing cakes!

Whilst camping in Brockenhurst I came here 3 times in a week as the food was so good. The breakfast is traditional, so there's no cut-your-mouth heavy sourdough, just a really nice quality thick sliced farmhouse loaf. The sausages are sourced from a butcher so you don't have to worry about processed mystery meat sausages that you sometimes get at breakfast cafes. They've got it just right. Not at all pretentious and not a greasy spoon. The staff are lovely and seems to enjoy working there. Id finished and they cleared my plate and I said 'I'll be off in a minute' as I always feel bad taking a seat. But the waitress said there's no hurry at all... And best of all I'm glad it's not near my house, as I'd be visiting it far too often!
