The King Refus pie is amazing, went back just for this pie alone! The food is fantastic, great choice and plenty of outside seating. Lovely pub find.

Right in the route of some incredible forest walks.
Massive garden out the back. Charming decor inside. Comfortable chairs and tables and the rooms are well laid out. Extremely dog friendly (dog biscuits on the bar, offered to fill our dog bowl). Beer is cold and clearly lines are well maintained. Food was great and portions filled us (we?re 2 people in our 30?s with big appetites that had just been out for a 4 hour hike).
To the person who complained about the price of the food a few reviews down, I don?t know what you were smoking or what backstreet cafes you?ve been eating in recently but the value for money was absolutely spot on and you should bang another star on that review.
Now to the staff. Absoultely unreal. Nothing was a bother or too much trouble. Friendly, attentive and professional without being intrusive. Literally perfect pub service.
Can?t wait for come back (and we?ve not even left yet)

Popped in for lunch.. great food and service.. prices what you expect to pay for good home cooked food.. we had a dog and sat out in the garden.. fantastic place

food was really nice, plenty of veggie and vegan options, good atmosphere and location. the vegan butter ?chicken? curry was unreal, the steak pie was super generous and the ploughman?s has huge portions with big variety.

Lovely pub in the middle of New Forest, great location. We visited it today for lunch. Pub is quite spacious with seats inside and a lot of space in the garden.
The Sunday roast beef was very tasty but it could be better with more seasonings and more gravy on the side. The lamb pie was also worth trying.
Definitely a place worth visiting, we were lucky to spot horse outside.

We didn't stay here so can't comment on the rooms. Lovely pub. Lovely garden. Wonderful and friendly staff. Food is nice but it's overpriced. The quality doesn't reflect the 2 or 3 quid more you pay for a dish than in other equally as lovely pubs. But it is a lovely pub and the food was very nice. Easily walkable from local campsites. Would visit again.

We came and managed to secure a great table in side without a reservation on a Sunday - I would say it was the last inside table so if a busy time of year probably best to book.
The staff were all great & we had the pie as a roast option which was really tasty!
Dog friendly which was perfect for us.
Would definitely come back!

Brilliant to see a vegan roast option with all the trimmings. Potatoes a little on the charred side but still tasted good. A lovely spot with friendly and chatty staff, would definitely return if we are ever back in the New Forest.
