Best value food in England, probably. We just ate a massive Sunday roast for less than £13. Prices from last decade, and it's lovely in here, with beams and cosy booths and pillars like an old ship, but it's empty! Perhaps people don't walk up the end of the high street and around the corner. There's no other explanation.... read full comment

The Sunday roast was incredible, there was so much meat, a massive Yorkshire and a platter of veggies. The gravy tasted like it was made of lamb drippings and it has some mint sauce mixed it. A perfect meal! The service was also very quick but I may have caught them in a quiet hour at 3pm.
