4 of us went for carvery, the food was cold and there wasn?t many options of veg. The carrots were practically still raw and the Yorkshire puddings had no flavour. When we left, me and my partner split the bill with my parents and they added the service charge of the whole bill onto just mine and my partners bill. We weren?t told about this and weren?t asked if we were happy to pay it so we didn?t realise until after that we were overcharged by £10. Unfortunately we won?t be going again.

Although our room was a little tired for the price, the public areas, location and staff certainly made up for it. We arrived early and the staff kindly let us leave our car in the car park while we walked into town. A lovely walk, about 10 to 15 minutes. We later had drinks in the lovely garden, followed by a very nice meal. Breakfast was also good. The staff were wonderful; friendly, professional and helpful! What more could you ask! Thank you.

We were very well looked after by the smiley team. Mussels and the steak were 5*, the Rarebit less so (panini style base was too crusty). Location is great.

Not impressed with the person who served me today I'm afraid.

Rooms: Comfortable
Food and drinks: We would have liked a better choice of breakfast including the option of fruit and yoghurt

We were disappointed that we had to point out that our room had not been serviced.
Breakfast was good and staff were friendly.

3 hash browns for £10 that smelt of fish & dirty oil. Not recommended!!

I came here for lunch only, and did not stay at the hotel. It was a great place to rest after a long walk in the nearby nature reserve. The staff in the restaurant were efficient and friendly, and the fish dish was delicious. Great pit stop.
Food and drinks: It is fine to use the restaurant, no need to stay at the hotel.

Stayed here for Valentines Day
Check in was easy lovely staff member who showed us to a gorgeous room. Extremely spacious , clean and decorated nicely. Cocktails were amazing and the food was delicious. Unfortunately we didn't sleep too well as the radiator in our room was faulty and wouldn't turn off making the room too hot even with the windows open. Bed was comfy, great shower. Breakfast was amazing we opted for the big breakfast and thank you to the lovely member of staff who served us. Great place to stay only 15 min walk to town centre, great for Isle of Wight ferry. Will definitely be returning.

Noteworthy details: Superb location by the coast and 10 minutes walk to Lymington Town centre.

Such a rare find, a lovely pub, close enough to town ( Lymington) to walk but also beside the river estuary with views.
The staff were friendly & efficient, the room was absolutely lovely & very spacious with a large separate bathroom & free standing bath. There was everything you could wish for in the room from ironing board to a fan & even a small heater should you need it. Great value , a gem of a place, oh & a large garden & even plenty of parking. We shall be back. Thank you all at the Mayflower.

Happened upon this pub by chance on a day trip to Lymington. Located near the sailing club. Nice and cosy with an open fire. Staff were friendly, food was OK but nothing great.

Disappointing stay. Breakfast and service were good. Room needs some tlc. Mouldy bathroom, Paint chipped, annoying green emergency light above the door which illuminated the room at night. Squeaky and uncomfortable bed.

The Mayflower has a superb location overlooking the Lymington river, the marina, the Isle of Wight ferry and the salterns. The cobbled quay and high street are an easy 15-20 min walk away. However it's outside appearance is tired with peeling paint and it gives off an ambience that it has seen better days...guests use an old chipped staircase with a musty smell and bad carpet. We booked the best room which was very large with a lovely big shower room and comfy bed. The furnishings were what you'd call 'distressed' or 'shabby chic' and I was fine with that, after all it's an old building. However I didn't think there was anything chic about the large sandy colored, upholstered wing chair that had a large unmentionable stain on the seat that looked like someone had peed on it! The bar area was nice with lots of sailing memorabilia and the cooked breakfast was very good but I opted to have a croissant one morning which was baked to order. This was a bad idea because croissants need to cool slowly and be served at room temp so the outside is crispy and all the lovely airy layers stay intact. Mine imploded as I cut it and steam escaped leaving me with a flat pastry with all the steamy layers stuck together! We stayed in Sept when it was quiet, however on sunny summer days with all the outside patio tables full of tourists enjoying live music and BBQ I imagine it's lively and busy.
