We ended up at this superb pub by pure chance and enjoyed an impromptu lunch. The staff were all super friendly and very welcoming. Three of us and our large, well behaved dog were accommodated in the pub restaurant for an 8:0pm dinner booking. Our food was presented quickly and tasted great. We tried this place a couple of weeks ago and while it is in a very nice location the food here was very disappointing. In short, everything we tried lacked taste and complexity.
Step back 400 years and walk into a quirky taverns with low oak beamed ceilings and inglenook fireplaces. The hustle of bustle, the laughter and chatter, the clinking of glasses and the smells of freshly homemade and homegrown produce. You've just walked into The Spread Eagle in Liss. Steeped in history and talks of ghosts, crusades and hangings from the old oak tree, the perfect setting for an evening dinner or light lunch after a walk in the local forests...........................
