Delicious meal and pleasant setting. Not the cheapest place but the quality matched the price.

We had a lovely meal here last week to celebrate my mum?s 70th birthday. We were quite a large party, but the deer hut catered well for us - they went above and beyond, even decorating the table and seating area for us. The food was delicious and the staff were all lovely and helpful, both prior to, and during the meal. Thank you very much!

Lovely pub/restaurant. Stopped for lunch and had the chicken wrap, which I highly recommend as it was delicious. Plenty of outdoor seating to sit with your dogs. Will visit again

We had a family lunch at The Deers Hut last weekend, my first time dining in a pub in many years, and I was genuinely impressed. The experience was memorable from start to finish.
The food was outstanding. The adults all chose the roasts, and the children went for the burgers. I had the roast pork, and it was exceptional, beautifully presented and I?d never tasted meat like it. The entire meal reflected real care and quality.
Service was warm, efficient, and genuinely welcoming, which made the afternoon even more enjoyable.
I highly commend the team for creating such a fantastic experience. The Deers Hut offers true quality and excellent value for money, we?ll definitely be returning in the future.

One of the most impressive pubs I?ve been to in a long time. Plenty of high quality fixtures, professional staff, delicious food and nice outdoor areas.

This quaint country pub first came to my attention after visiting old thorns country club in a freezing winters night. I feel in love with it immediately and it was a welcome respite from the icy cold outside at the time. We had impromptu food which we were lucky to get as this very popular spot always recommends booking ahead,, but we were in luck and got a table in the corner to thaw out and relax. The staff were amazing - friendly, funny, helpful and efficient, and the food was high end pub and delicious quality. They do great Xmas offers which I intend to try this year, and did I mention they are dog friendly, have roaring fires abs have the cutest outside area with heated pods with sofas, blankets and the like. Highly recommended. Oh, and they have over a hundred different gins to try...

Regularly visit this beautiful pub. Really cosy atmosphere with large fireplace and cosy seating. I ordered and paid for some nibbles with my drinks during my last visit. 20 minutes later I was told they didn?t have that item. No offer or a refund or replacement item or drink. I waited a further 20 minutes for the manager. Ended up giving up and leaving. Disappointing customer service. These things happen but offer the customer something to make up for it.

I had a great meal here the other night everything came out correctly and within a good time frame all our special needs were met. I'll definitely be back and I highly recommend.

Ate here while on a golf weekend at Old Thorns, on the recommendation of a club member, and was not disappointed. The food was amazing and the service excellent, all the staff were very friendly. This is an independent pub doing things right!

Went here recently for dinner with a friend. I had my 10 month old son with me and from the start I was left standing, waiting to be seated, for a while with my baby in my arms. I didn't bring his buggy inside because I know it's tight on space inside and a buggy is awkward at a table.
A member of staff then informed me they "don't do high chairs".
What!? I can't be the only person who has ever brought a small child into this pub!?
My son isn't old enough to sit in a normal chair or booth, but is far too mobile and wriggly to be held for the whole meal.
I had to go back out to the car to bring the buggy in.
Later on during the meal I needed to make up a bottle for my son. I always bring hot water with me for this, but it usually needs cooling down. I went to the bar to ask for some cold tap water, as our waitress hadn't been past in a while, but again I was left standing for a long time with babe in arms. In the end I gave up and my friend had to try to flag down our waitress.
The food and drinks were delicious, but I was left with the feeling that my son/ families with small child aren't really welcome here.
I won't be coming back until my son is a lot older or I'm child free for the night.

Booked the pub after it was recommended by the air bed and breakfast owner.
I'd looked up the pub food online but when we arrived the menu looked nothing like online, I was expecting a traditional pub menu but sadly no sausages, traditional pies, only a choice of 2 burgers beef or chicken, very expensive fillet steak at £35. I had to settle for fish and chips, and vanilla cheese cake and sorbet severed on a hot plate.the pub was extremely loud big groups not ideal for a dating couple.
I definitely wouldn't revisit here again..sadly.
