Called in for a drink to watch some football. Didn't expect to have to suffer foul and disgusting language from another person in the place. This very aggressive behaviour drove me and a number of other customers out but appeared to be tolerated by the staff. Apparently not the first time as I learn leaving the place from others going elsewhere. Place to avoid unless you like obsescenity and potential aggravation. Hope the management review the cctv they claim to have and take the necessary action.

The manager was struggling with low staff numbers so service was slow.. Food good. Plenty of parking spaces. Lively àtmosphere.

We spent the day and night here for a private party. The place is full of personality and staff are very friendly. The rooms are great value, clean and comfortable, our evening meals in the bar (which was buzzing) were very nice and the breakfast was very good. We were very well looked after by Steven and the teamRooms: Very comfortable and cleanWalkability: Right next to hook stationFood & drinks: As a green king pub, it's probably a standard menu but it was very well cooked and the breakfast wasn a great selection of continental and beautifully presented freshly cooked food

I didn?t book room however we usually go to the restaurant for breakfast . Today we visited and received very poor service . Ordered 2 full English breakfast and coffee. Waited 30 mts and we saw the people who ordered after us has been served food . Waited another 10 mts and end up in pub reception for asking about food .We had our food and waited for coffee . Went to the reception and asked for coffee ( looks like they completely forget it) . Severed coffee after 15 mts . Felt not welcomed and experienced very poor service. I think we are the only Asian customers in there ??? Is it that reason .Last time when we visited the lady who was on duty was very good and well provided the service to her customer.Poor experience . We don?t visit again this place . So disappointed.Food & drinks: Please see above comment.Very poor service received today by the Rowena restaurant team .

Popped in for a quick drink, and a couple of us had food. The service was good and the staff were friendly. The food was good and they catered for food allergies.

Great place to stay, we stayed 1 night, had our dog with us, room in ground floor was a bit dated as was receprion , but had everthing we needed. Great shower plenty of hot water,comfy bed, fantastic breakfast served in the restaurant/ bar, we also had an evening meal there, staff were lovely and attentive especially Calum.
