Having chanced upon it by accident we were very happy with this tradition pub restaurant.
Welcoming staff , proper pub grub menu with a few posher bits and very resonable prices
We lived the character with all sorts of country stuff all over the place and a few collections of bits and bobs .
Would have lived to have stayed for a few more but driving so just the one

Some of the best pub food my family and I have had for a long time! Very generous portion sizes, all of our plates were cleaned! The lamb shank and steak especially! Tasted like proper home cooked food, will definitely visit again, highly recommend, thank you.

Definitely not a gastro pub. It does take you back to how country pubs used to be. Old school decor, neat well presented garden, small range of well kept beers, friendly staff (not in uniforms!). Big menu of pub classics that do not skimp on portion size. Go hungry. Good value. Not sure you will find better on Hayling island.
Note this pub is NOT open all day and limited food hours. Phone to check.

Decor inside a little tired but cosy & homely . Dogs allowed in & outside.
Avery in garden & plenty of tables food ordered @ bar but brought to table.
Lovely choice & all homecooked . I had roast beef & horseradish sauce brown bread sandwiches wgich were served with crisps & side salad . Prices very reasonable & delicious . . . Definately recommend & good stop off on way to or from Hayling Beach !

Cast your mind back to 1990 and remember what it was like to walk into a proper old English pub. For me this is 90's nostalgia. Forget the modern commercial pubs, this place has soul.
Really nice setting, friendly staff and good food with a really nice atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

Searching Hayling for food and after a few false starts we went into the yew tree, locals at the bar in good hearted conversation, attentive bar staff and proper food, prices very fair and I will be back, thank you for restoring my faith in pubs.
