The hotel is ideally placed for exploring Hayling Island and the surrounding area. We used the busses to explore as there are stops just outside the hotel, all over the island and there is a frequent reliable service. The hotel itself is full of charm with friendly, approachable, knowledgeable staff who are very willing to help. There is a very good bar and seating area (both inside and out). The restaurant is one of the best hotel restaurants we have been in, with a very good menu (I am vegetarian, but my wife isn?t and we were both well catered for). The actual food is of a high quality, and I can particularly recommend the mushroom wellington. The prices are very reasonable. There is also a very good, reasonably priced wine list. We are staying for 3 nights to celebrate an anniversary and, as I write, we have one night to go. We are very much looking to today as the hotel has a live jazz band in the afternoon and we are booked in for Sunday lunch afterwards, which is a fixed price 2 or 3 courses. Our room is very good and well presented. A nice, very comfortable bed with plenty of pillows and a good view over the entrance area garden. Good clothes storage with drawers and wardrobe. Good tea/coffee making facilities and a couple of easy chairs and TV. The bathroom is clean with a good shower. We would definitely return and throughly recommend the Newton House Hotel.

Had an amazing first birthday for my daughter at the Newtown hotel was such an easy stress free experience. Sarah was amazing getting everything organised and set up for it. Nothing we asked for was too much trouble and they were super accommodating. The food was delicious and lots of it as we ordered a buffet. The room itself comes so nicely decorated anyway we just had a couple of banners up really lovely day 100% recommend. Thank you so much

As a member of the Hayling Legends car club, I've visited the Newtown House Hotel every Wednesday evening in the summer and on the first Sunday morning of the month in winter. The drinks are well-priced and the food is always excellent and good value for money. The staff are friendly and helpful and the Hotel has a nice feel to it.

BE WARNED!!!!!!!! A clean hotel with lovely staff BUT you will be completely unable to sleep until after midnight when there is a wedding here. I?m currently listening to a thundering bass-booming shouting ?singer? wedding band. I?m not part of the wedding party and had no idea it was happening was not warned by the hotel on booking and I?ve been placed in the family room ABOVE THE PARTY!!!! My 3 year old took until 10pm to finally crash, upset, and my 5 year old is currently crying at 11pm and begging me to make the noise stop. It is unbearable - I recommend staying in a hotel that you can actually sleep in. To the hotel; it is morally corrupt to allow bookings in this room unless you have rung the people who have booked to check A) they know there is a wedding on and B) their family room is above it and they will not be sleeping AT ALL until gone midnight. I came for a quiet night away with the kids ????. Disastrous.

Can't ask for a better place to visit. And we are hiring the hall for a regular mind, body, and spirit events throughout the year and 2024. And the staff are brilliant.

We had afternoon tea, which exceeded our expectations. The lady that served us throughout was friendly and very attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The afternoon tea itself was outstanding, good choice of sandwiches, scones and cakes.....I will certainly be returning.

At £150 for a small twin room with basic facilities, no breakfast, this is overpriced. Staff are friendly and location is good. Unfortunately the night we stayed there was a wedding on and the noise was loud until late at night. Not their fault but I think they should have let us know and maybe not put us in a room next to the party.

Absoloute gem, and a bargain.Flawless for location, price, cleanliness, friendliness, and comfort. The bar and courtyard area are stunning, as is the hotel. There's a load of free car parking to the rear. The building itself is quirky and quaint. The staff are accommodating.Rooms are more than comfortable, clean, airy, and turned down daily. Will definitely be back, and I will be my default hotel on Hayling going forward.Rooms: I stayed in a single room, which was light, airy, spotlessly clean, decent temperature and the bed was comfy with ample pillows and sheets. The shower was spot on, too... not one of those hotel shower roulettes that can either be tepid or flay your skin off.Nearby activities: Well... It's Hayling! The hotel is 10 mins stroll from Funland (then on to West Point)... across the road from the Barley Mow (carvery), and round the corner from West Town/Shops... down the road just a couple of miles or so in one direction is the Portsmouth foot ferry and in the other is access to haylings South Beach and Eastoke seafront. Definitely recommend following the Hayling Billy Trail from Westown up to the tip of the island.Walkability: 10 mins Beach. 4 mins West Town, 20 mins Eastoke, 30 mins Mengham.

We had a funeral wake here. Very nice staff, extremely respectful and helpful. A very relaxed location considering where it is. Good parking.
