Very busy on a Friday night as expected, but found a table for 3. We shared some chicken bites, wings and chips. Only had to wait about 5 mins for the food to be served, which was piping hot and tasty.

Wetherspoon scarce has a sparkling reputation to defend and they certainly did not shine today and yet it was full of supplicants who are, presumably, less demanding than I.
At the tables were small printed and fatuous notices informing diners that (fried) eggs in most breakfasts would be substituted by hash browns. This, by the way, meant that the Large Breakfast would have no eggs and five (!) hash browns.
The notices alluded to an exaggerated shortage of free range eggs which, notably, was not affecting nearby breakfast rivals. Whether this be due to avian flu or not, they had run out yesterday which shows poor management and lack of understanding of ordering protocols.
We left.

We were not overly impressed with this visit when we were staying nearby before a holiday.
We are avid Wetherspoon customers and felt this venue lacked cleanliness and friendliness from staff.
Granted it was a busy Friday the 3rd week in November but the most friendly of everyone were the bouncers on the way in.
We had to ask a couple of times for the table to be cleaned.
To their credit, food and drinks arrived quickly as usual with Wetherspoons but the food wasn?t anything amazing. The chicken tikka was dry and the burger bland. Chips were great though!
