Not been back up there for a long time popped in for a beer or two on dog walk and chef think landlord aswell not sure,but on entry gave me and my friend a little bowl of beef for our little doggies ,great little touch ,and of course they loved it.

Omg ? just had the most amazing roast beef dinner! Having lived in the South for many years, I can honestly say roasts here have never come anywhere close to a proper Northern one? until now. Hands down the best roast dinner I?ve ever had ? tender beef, all the trimmings, and cooked to perfection.
On top of that, the service was brilliant ? the landlady and staff were so welcoming and friendly, which really made the whole experience even better.
Absolutely love it here ? highly, highly recommend! ?????

It was very late and only came out when asked about it. The buns were rock hard and burnt. The burger came out with fillings after we requested it plain. It came out again with fillings simply scraped off with remaining sauce.

AVOID if you want to book for an event! We arrived and were very disappointed to see that the food we had paid for was being displayed on a pool table, in a room with no tables or chairs?.for 40 guests?! The lack of food for £10 per person was embarrassing, a few trays of stale sandwiches and a small plate of prawns, onion bhaji?s, chicken nuggets and samosas. Looked like something you could buy frozen in Iceland. Good job we provided our own cake! definitely not somewhere I will be recommending or going back to. I am not someone who usually writes reviews but thought this was necessary to avoid others making the same mistake as we have not been offered any resolution.

We booked the Fox and Hounds for our daughter?s christening, 40 guests at £10 per head, and were left extremely disappointed. There was not enough food for everyone, and what was served was poor quality? the beef was thick, tough, and unpleasant to eat and the bread was stale and far from fresh.
To make matters worse, the food was originally set out on top of the pool table with no tables or chairs for guests and the room was far too small for 40 guests. The food was moved into the conservatory while our guests were waiting, which created a lot of confusion and disruption. The entire set-up felt very poorly organised and unprofessional.
For such an important occasion, we expected much better service and value. Sadly, the day was let down by the venue, and we wouldn?t recommend it for special events or for its food.
It?s such a shame, as this was once a lovely pub, but the standards have really slipped- avoid it if you want good food and service.

Myself & my family visit this pub regularly and it doesn?t ever disappoint. We are a family of 4 and always feel warmly welcomed and enjoy spending time here. The staff are all very welcoming and attentive and always trying their best to please the customer. It?s a wonderful, family run pub and we will continue to support them for a long time yet. Thank you so much to everyone at The Fox & Hounds who always make our visits a real pleasure. Highly recommend.

The fox and hounds is an amazing pub, amazing food, service is quick, staff are polite and get your order as soon as possible. With the new play park in place it makes it a lot easier for for adults to have a child free time, 100% would recommend to the public.

Great family owned pub with delicious food. They also have bands playing at weekends which adds to a great atmosphere

Decent size car park with plenty of outdoor tables (although a little grubby) and a children's play area.
Fairly quiet for a Sunday lunchtime, so service was quick. No choice of cider on tap or bottle, only a semi sweet.
The dining conservatory was pleasant, although the view is the car park.
Waited nearly 30 minutes for my food (halloumi wrap), spoke to the couple on the next table that ordered at the bar before me, their Sunday roast took nearly 40 minutes to be served! We all agreed though that the food was excellent and tasted fresh..so were forgiven the long wait.
My only gripe was the side salad had balsamic dressing. Why? Am not keen on the taste, the polite and efficient waiter immediately took away my plate and it came back minutes later without the dressing.

Literally do not care about their customers. We visited 2nd June. Complained at the time with no resolve. Emailed early June. No reply chased on 16th June. No reply. It?s now 22nd July still no reply. Avoid

We held a celebration of a very good man's life here on 28th, and have nothing but praise for the landlady and her staff, the food provided and also from the menu later on in the evening. A few of us rough camped in the pub field out back and we were invited into the pub in the morning to use the toilet facilities. Saved trying to wash with bottled water in a tent. Thoroughly recommended - if you're passing, pop in, have a bite to eat and chill for a while x

We wanted to find somewhere to hold our end of season awards for our youth footie team and decided on The Fox & Hounds. What a great decision it was. Incredible value per head for the kids, really lovely mix of food, a bouncy castle for entertainment and the team even came over and offered to take photos for us so we could all be in the photo. Its also a stunning pub, with a choice of a great inside facility or a lovely outside space for the current weather! We've already asked if we can book ahead for next year!
