“I had a chip on my windshield repaired by two charming, efficient members of staff who explained clearly what they were doing and any possible problems (which didn't occur). The service cost me £45.00, compared with the £75.00 call-out firm, which failed to turn up on the day and time agreed. Excellent service from my first contact — someone from the store called within 1/2 an hour of my email enquiry. Highly recommended.”

“Big shout out to a very helpful lady, Mandy, who works at the Eastleigh store. She kindly directed me to an offer that I could use to receive 20% off my purchases today. As I hadn't noticed the sign in store, I would have otherwise had to pay full price. Mandy has always been so lovely on previous occasions and has fantastic customer service skills. A real asset to Matalan!”
“Definitely worth coming to these types of places if you actually want advice on the best products to use for the job. The chap in this branch was honest and clearly not trying to be a salesman, which I appreciate. The reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because I discovered they were selling a range of varnish for around £25 more than all the other chains (luckily not the one I bought). A blatant ripoff, unless of course this is a mistake. The customer service rep on twitter seemed to be happy to match the price but this, to be honest, has left a sour taste in my mouth. This feels like disingenuous behaviour to me and I’m now going to be careful to price check before buying anything else to ensure it’s not more than a reasonable amount more than the bigger chains.”

“Needed some offset ring spanners, despite 2 branches of Halfords saying they had them, I stopped at B&Q and they had a cheap set in stock.
Despite having one arm in a sling the till operator managed very well with a good sense of humour too.”

“Today, I purchased an air fryer and a microwave from this store. The lady assistant who helped me was so good, she even fetched one of their largest dinner plates from the shop shelf, to see if it fitted in the microwave for me. Nothing was to much trouble for her. She is an excellent person to be working there.”
