This is an excellent restaurant, intimate but not cramped, and a pleasant relaxed atmosphere. We visited twice, whilst spending a few days in New Forest, and were impressed. The food is superb and very well-cooked. A first class menu and great service. We enjoyed it very much and can recommend without hesitation.
We spent £50pp including gratuity, for 3 courses including coffee excluding wine. Suggest booking first because capacity is limited and restaurant is popular.

A warm welcome awaits you! My husband had steak and I had sea bass which were both delicious. Wonderful flavours. I recommend the Pinot Grigio Calasari. Our desserts were equally good, treacle tart and lemon meringue roulade. Thank you Ramsey for a very special evening.

Fantastic meal here whilst staying at a B&B down the road. All the courses were delicious and the service was great. I booked due to the good reviews on the food and was really pleased to find it lived up to the previous reviews! Definitely worth eating here if you are in the area.

Had a fabulous dinner here. Amazing scotch egg and salmon cannoli for starter. For mains the sea bass and Lamb shank and to end the evening with the creme brûlée. 10/10 for the food. Feels as though you are dinning at a friend?s independent restaurant. Would highly recommend.

A really sweet looking restaurant with very nice staff. However, the food was really disappointing. Clearly the food is microwaved as my lamb shoulder was boiling hot in some places and luke warn jn others. The fat was also not properly cooked down making it not very pleasant to eat. A real shame.

Had a delicious meal here, service was excellent too, would definitely recommend. Hope to return as there were a few options I would like to try having seen some of the other tables food as well.
Venue is small, all tables were occupied when we went, I can see how it could lack a bit of atmosphere if it's not so full; in this instance we found it a relaxing atmosphere.

A very nice restaurant that also has a different, more varied menu than you would otherwise find. I would describe it as upscale gastronomy with good value for money. The ambience is very nice with puristic furnishings. Everything is very clean and the service leaves nothing to be desired. The food was very tasty.
However, we found it difficult to find the entrance. If we hadn't met people we could have asked, we probably wouldn't have been there. It is the same entrance as the one to the differently named accommodation. There should be a sign there.
Vegetarian options: We are not vegetarians but had a mushroom rice dish that tasted very good and you could optionally order fillet strips with it. I seem to remember there being more vegetarian options.

Very enjoyable dinner, great service. The kind of place where they know their food and make you feel welcome. Some interesting and different flavours. Atmosphere-wise it can be a bit echoey and so maybe some more soft furnishings might help the vibe, but would definitely go back again.

We have recently stayed at the Cottage Lodge Hotel and decided to have a meal at the White Tails. Our host, Ramsay was a kind man and really went out of his way to make our evening very enjoyable. The food was superb, my wife & I both had the steak, cooked perfectly! The cheeseboard was well thought through and we liked the fact that the produce was locally sourced. Thank you for a great evening, we will be back when we visit the area again.

We were staying at the Cottage Lodge Hotel next door and decided at the time of booking to arrange to eat here on our first night. We tried to book for the following night as well halfway through our meal as we were so impressed, but unsurprisingly, they were fully booked. Great dishes on the menu, and a friendly service throughout - we will make sure to come again next time we are in the area, and will be recommending to others!
