Beautiful village and hotel.The coffee shop for afternoon tea is very cosy and comfortable. Big chairs and tables. Nice coffee, tea and cakes or sandwiches.It is a fabulous place to be there with family, friends or partners.

Pretty outside, pretty inside. We had afternoon tea - as a Buy-a-Gift present from relatives, without which we wouldn't normally be 'afternoon tea' type people. It was a really lovely experience and I'd recommend it, at this place, yo anyone

Really lovely hotel, staff was lovely and polite, breakfast was amazing if you love granola it was homemade! Super dog friendly and the dogs even got a welcome box of treats which is a lovely little touch! You may get to meet the lovely local gardener who is a fountain of knowledge on the new forest and it?s history?.lovely friendly man! We will definitely go back! Thanks for making ours and the dogs stay fab! X

Thank you to Hugh and the team at the Thatched Cottage for the most wonderful afternoon tea with bubbles. From booking to leaving, we could not have wanted for anything and the tea itself was impeccable; beautifully presented and delicious. We can?t wait to come back again soon!

Rooms: Only negative point. Very attractive furnishings but small and very noisy with other guests making noise as they opened the front door which was only feet from our bed. The furnishings including the flooring are hard and don't absorb the noise. The rooms were clean and pretty and the garden sitting is lovely.Nearby activities: Very central with a pub next doorWalkability: Close to High StFood & drinks: Amazing breakfast

We stayed here for just one night. The welcome was warm, the room excellent, the bed comfortable, the breakfast ample and well cooked and presented and all done with a friendly helpfulness that will certainly have us return.

Didn't stay so couldn't say what the rooms are like. Visited to enjoy the gin bar with friends. Sat in the garden. Fantastic service.. lovely gins to try .. try one of the gin flights.. 3 gins to taste.
