I booked a room at the Forest Park Country Hotel & Inn, Brockenhurst, and checked in on 5 Nov 2023. I was put in a room which had 3 steps immediately outside to the side of my room door with a small the landing areas of less one meter. As a result of the proximity of the stairs to my door and the fact that the heavily patterned carpet disguised the steps, I sadly down the steps injuring my face/lip and badly twisting my ankle and grazing my knee. There was no warning sign. A yellow notice was quickly added by the staff after my fall! Although the duty manager was compassionate and helpful giving me ice and a plaster, it has seriously impacted my stay, my ability to walk easily and my job in the coming days.Hence my complaint as the hotel should not have put me in a room with a dangerous entrance without a warning sign and carpet that disguised the steps. It looks like I will need to turn to the Health and Safety directorate?s help, The hotel should not use this room in the first place! Forest Part Country Hotel trying to forget this incident. The hotel should not put anyone to stay in the room 105I was promised by the hotel and was told the manager will contact me, however I have not heard any of their employees directly contact me about this accident. One thing made me very unhappy, after my incident, the reception manager told me the safety was checked by the council authority figure, and their hotel was checked and granted the safety certificate by the council,it seems to be the hotel get all the blame on the council. After this few months, I graduated and recovered from this accident. I am a reasonable nice person and would not use this accident to claim any insure, but I am very disappointed with the hotel did not contact me all after this incident . not even a call to find out if my injury is ok, I was insulted when the hotel offer me 10% refund which is less £10 to cover my injury, I found very ridiculous and reject the offering. To avoid any other guest will happed in the future. I hope council will insist the safety in this hotel.Safety: The hotel should not put anyone to stay in the room 105, I hope council will insist the safety in this hotel.

A beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were of a fantastic standard and the food was amazing. Sadly the weather didn't allow us to explore much of the forest so it's a good excuse to return again in the summer ??

A great stay, this is a gem of a hotel to find, amazing with dogs too.The hotel is situated directly next to many of the hiking or biking trials from the front door. Their attention to detail is the best Ive seen, they have loan wellies of every size from baby to adult! They left dog bowl, bed and towels in our room, reserved us a dog friendly table in the bar area, so many nice sweet touches you dont even find in 5 star hotels. The handyman/groundskeeper was very helpful with storing our bikes, all the staff were very pleasant, chatty and full of tips and advice for the area. We ate the restaurant menu in the var area, the food was very good, only the cheese board needs more soft cheeses ! The room was ground floor and opened to the gardens, just little thoughts like this for dog guests made it so special. Highly recommend this stay, well done the entire team.

Location is all great. Hotel service is so poor. Food is mediocre and overpriced. Had first breakfast and didn't return for the second. Not ideal for family especially if you have kids. It also gave me a racism vibe, and I won't recommend this establishment to people of colour. There were fictious charges after we left, they did not even have courtesy to inform us what they were for. Anyway, we called and they struggled to keep up with their fiction. We won't be returning here!!

We had a great stay and would definitely come back. Staff were lovely, food was amazing and location is great for walking into Brockenhurst. After leaving my coat in the room they even called me and sent it in the post to me, massive thank you to the reception team ?

We stayed for a long weekend to celebrate a birthday. Rooms, service, food and ambience were all superb. The only negative is that the hotel is on the outskirts of Brockenhurst and there's not much to do within walking distance (apart from long strolls through the beautiful countryside), so you'll need a car. That said, its location makes it an ideal base for visiting Beaulieu, Lymington, Milford on Sea and Lyndhurst. We ate in the hotel restaurant on both nights, and whilst the menu isn't huge, we didn't have trouble finding dishes that we liked. Two special things to mention; drive carefully because the New Forest ponies get everywhere and walk around (quite rightly) like they own the place. The second is to praise Mandie, who was on the front desk and proved to be charming, knowledgable and really helpful. Thanks to all at the hotel for a lovely experience.

I only went in for a drink. It's table service they tell me at the bar. Sit down. Wait 10 minutes. Get up to leave. Bartender appears, half heartedly clears the table, remarking it needs a clean and takes my order. 10 minutes and much milling around by staff, mainly petting customers' dogs. No drink. I get up and leave. In fairness, I was here for a wake a year ago and that was very well catered for. However, the devil is in the detail, and if they can't serve you a drink in 20 minutes in a none too busy bar, then you'll think twice about staying or going there for a meal.

We had a festive Christmas lunch in the bar area at table 11 which was excellent. The service as well as the warm and welcoming atmosphere were very pleasant and memorable.

Although only a three star. This is a really good hotel. The rooms are very clean and well appointed with Dyson hairdryers, a Dab radio, capsule coffee machine as well as the usual stuff. It's not the cheapest place and the bar prices are quite steep. But the staff are really attentive. Food quality is excellent and the breakfast had everything you would want.
