Christmas 23.That pitch still floods and theyre still putting people on it. Luckily i got a different pitch this time which was much better.Christmas 22.Another visit which made me lower my opinion of this place. I was put on a pitch that flooded, the awning was unusable which didnt help when the weather was bad and we have dogs. I decided to leave early and asked the office if I could get my last day refunded as it wasn't my fault. They said no and that I chose that pitch. I didn't choose the pitch, it was the last one that they put me on. The lady in reception then walked off mid conversation and left me stood there. I asked the man on reception where she had gone and if she was coming back and he said she'd gone to do the washing. Thought he was joking for a mo but he wasn't.If you have a pitch that floods then don't put people on it. They said they couldn't help the weather. Well just don't use it until you get it landscaped and sort some drainage so that it doesn't flood.Absolute shocking customer service.Summer 22.Loves it, nice and clean and a lovely area. Difficult to get a pitch due it being so popular. Definitely my go to New Forest campsite.Service pitches around the edges would be nice where there is a bit more privacy.I've been to campsites in France where pitches are separated by hedges or fences giving some sort of segregation and a bit of privacy. I'd live to see this on UK campsites. This why I've given 4 and not 5 stars and that would be the same for any UK csampsite with this layout.

Everything that everyone else has said. A great site, great location, and the usual spotless facilities. Nice walk over the common into Brockenhurst which takes a good 40 minutes, less if you take it briskly. Nice village with plenty pubs, cafes and assorted touristy type places. And horses and donkeys and lovely pigs abound all around you. Magic!!!!

I've stayed here three times now and each time have booked my next stay right away. The biggest attraction is the location, right in the New Forest, with walks in several directions. On one day we walked cross country and away from roads to Rhinefield House Hotel in the Rhinefield Ornamental Drive (arboretum) and on Sunday we walked to Brockenhurst for lunch. The heathland can be boggy in wet periods, but there are good gravel paths. The toilets, showers and other facilities at the site are clean and well maintained. They are located in the centre of the site, so it's never far from your pitch. Most pitches are completely level. Some pitches look slightly crowded but where I was staying was generously laid out.A number of meal vendors visit the site, though I didn't try any.You do need to be a member of the Caravan and Motorhome Club to stay at the site.

Beautiful campsite in the amazing surroundings of The New Forest. Ideal for walking or cycling. A haven for dog walking direct from site. The village of Brockenhurst is approximately 45 mins walk away.

Usual Caravan club site, though the staff here are ultra friendly so top marks there. Some distance from the nearby village of Brockenhurst so either 40 min walk or 10 min drive. Surrounded by open heath and woodland with wild horses and donkeys abound. Visiting food vans throughout the week with variety of meals for those too tired to cook. New-ish site with hedges still young and small. Other 'guests' not as chatty as on other sites, wealthier demographic judging by the number of posh vehicles.

Very good site, it is spotless the wardens do an excellent job. Couldn't be better situated in the forest, cycling and walking on your doorstep. There are also 5 days when outside caterers ome to site from fish and chips to chill. Excellent choice for everybody.

What a wonderful experience it was staying at Black Knowl , the Team were lovely and everywhere was Beautifully Kept , Nights were so quiet it was amazing , and being right in the Forest our Neighbours were Horses and Donkeys which was Magical . The Site has a nice Little Shop for essentials , with Tesco and the Co Op plus other shops in the middle of the Village a short Drive away . The Site Facilities are excellent , Washing and Dying Tokens are sold in the shop .The washer is great .We can?t wait to go back . 5* All Round.

"Above and Beyond"This site has always been one of our favourites due to it's perfect location in the forest. However during the last couple of years it has got even better due to the head wardens Pete and Jenny. They are always willing to help, and manage to do it with a smile on their faces! We have just returned from an unplanned second visit to the site this year, where Pete was an absolute star.Unfortunately our St Bernard Monty was taken very ill with bloat late evening on our first night.Having rung the emergency number Pete immediately came up to us and offered to take us to the emergency vets in Hythe. Long story short, had we not made it to the vets when we did our beloved Monty would not be here now.Pete's help and support during this traumatic time was amazing and greatly appreciated. We cannot thank him enough! All the staff at the site were great over the following few days always asking after Monty, which we both appreciate. We will hopefully be back there again in September, when hope fully Monty will be back to his old self!(including drinking all the water outside reception)
