Failed to replace cabin air filter on a major service.Had plenty of time to find fault with two tyres on the Mot though.No response from Halfords Autocentres.

I booked my MOT here as been before and always happy with the service. The manager and assistant manager are very good at their jobs and this review is not aimed at them but unfortunately the guys carrying out the MOT are either not qualified enough or dishonest.I was told my car failed due to the day lights not working. I took my car to Halfords retail where the lads there told me they couldn't see anything wrong but will take the lights off to look closely but will have to charge me once they do this. I was confident to go ahead as after all the garage told me there was a problem.Still nothing wrong with my car. So I took it back to the garage where the assistant manager looked and agreed it should have passed.When he told the guy who failed my car, the guy was cross and demanded to see. I thought this was very unprofessional.The assistant manager dealt with this in the right way but none of this should have happened. I spent the whole of my afternoon trying to sort a problem out that didn't exist and had to pay out more money to be told this.I was told it was because my car was complicated. I have a fiat 500. I know my car and never had a problem. The guy doing the MOT clearly didn't realise you have to turn the daylights on via the dashboard menu and therefor failed or he was trying to make money.Either way due to this incompetent and untrustworthy member of staff, I will not be using this place again.I made a complaint over 2 weeks ago and nobody has got back to me so they obviously don't care so hopefully this review will help others avoid the hassle I went through.

Awful experience ! Had booked my MOT through Halfords online. On arrival they told that no MOT works on weekends. Ok fine ! Then they booked my MOT after 2 weeks. Again they cancelled stating that they have some issues. Very rude staff.

Bunch of time wasters. Booked in my tyres days in advance only to turn up, be left sat waiting for half an hour and then be told they don?t have the tyres I ordered or anything similar in stock

Despite being told our tyres were a standard size, they didnt have one tyre in stock and that we would have wait 4 days to get one. Straight round to kwik fit who had them in stock

When you live in Basingstoke it feels you need to either plan a puncture or be prepared to be off the road until National tyres can fit you in (best offer was 48 hours)Have to say Halfords fit on the drive service was more available IF you don't have large/ wide tyres their website allows you to book then find out they can't do it 22 hours later.

Absolute worst worst experience ever, absolutely awful customer service everything was just bad, anyone coming to this garage, I suggest you never book in here. I needed my tyres changed since I had a puncture in of them, had arrived on time and everything for my booking, they then told me to wait about an hour or 2 and it should be fixed. After two hour or so went back to pick my car up hoping my car had been fixed but it hadn?t, was just sat in the workshop doing nothing, so I waited another hour or so when suddenly the person comes out and tells me sorry but the tyres you?ve ordered aren?t delivered yet, so I was just thinking this whole time the tyres weren?t even here but you lot made me wait all this time and made me think it would be fixed, even though online it said it was in stock and everything, so I suggest to everyone don?t ever come to this place look for another garage who treat customers how they should be treated, instead of wasting their time. Absolutely awful experience.

Bad time management!! I had booked appointment and dropped the Car for brake check. But they haven?t do it on that day. And when I when went to pick up after 8hrs then they told they didn?t get time to look into it as they were busy with otter CAR. If this was the case they should not take appointment or they should?ve informed customer saying that they can?t do on that day, so that I would have picked it up early.

Absolutely Terrible. Took over 3 hours to get 4 tyres done. My car didn?t move for the first 1.5 hours and my car was only started on because I came back and waited in the waiting room. As I was waiting in the waiting room I watched them change a tyre in 10 minutes so can?t wrap my head around why it took over 1.5 hours to finish with my car. The place I used go did all 4 tyres in 30/45 minutes. Terrible service wouldn?t recommend to anyone

The people were nice but they may be busy. I didn?t had the best communication and waited for an hour on the phone. I failed the MOT for multiple reasons. One of them was the brake light. I changed the brake light for reMOT. Then, they discovered that it was the rear cluster which was expensive. I wish they had checked properly during MOT so i had time to look for options. The reMOT was done on Thursday and they completely it on Monday.

Terrible customer service. Booked for interim service through Halfords 2 days ago. They call me the day before the scheduled service and says there was a system error and my booking is cancelled. No email, no text. Says they can't do such things. I asked for complaints procedure, and the gentleman says he does not know. Then later explains there is no technician at the garage on the said date. Keeps changing reasons.When I said I want to make it clear that the cancellation/refund request was not on my behest, he said that I made the request from my side and not otherwise.Terrible service.Would never recommend to anyone.

Shockingly bad experience there today. Arrived for MOT appointment, and there was noone at reception. Waited patiently for someone to come. Eventually they arrived, and dealt with another customer. By the time they spoke to me, it was 7 mins after the appointment drop-off time, and he said I'd missed the appointment. I assumed he was joking. But no. He was deadly serious. He followed with the worst customer service imaginable. Rude and unhelpful. He did eventually agree to refund the MOT, but refused to provide a receipt. He refused to let me speak to a manager. He refused to give his name, until eventually he said he was Tom (who knows if that's his real name, another customer said they thought it was not). This whole incident was in front of other customers who could not believe what they were seeing and hearing. At least two are withdrawing their custom, one for a company account with multiple vehicles. Avoid this place at all costs. I have never seen anything so bad! Halfords have bought National, and their reputation will be trashed in no time if they don't get a grip fast on this rogue outfit.
