Came here after a long time for my dads 75th birthday. Spent 20 minutes making the booking for dinner and they appeared to be accomdating. On the day they called to say they had a kitchen issue for lunch, and appeared to have our booking down as a lunch one?!
Service was sub standard being told to wait to order drinks because they had one other big birthday booking, and being told they didn't tell us about it as they didn't want to disappoint, not thinking we'd rather have gone somewhere we have satisfactory service.
Food was poor - the chicken burger is a dry chicken breast in bread, no salad, no seasoning, no dressing or relish.
Kids sausage and mash had some sort of herbs in there that were awful on the pallete.
Would not return.

Terrible, terrible food. One of the worst burgers I?ve ever had, dry and combined with a cheese that just doesn?t match at all. For some reason they cover the salad in pesto and you get about 10 chips for your £18!
My partner had the chicken burger which was? a bit of chicken in a bun with the same awful salad and amount of chips? again. Waste of money.
If I could offer you any advice it would be.. read the review on trip advisor and here before wasting your hard earned each, seems that the rooms are awful, the food is awful and it?s all very overpriced. I fear they are just cashing in on being a ?Peppa pig? hotel. Seriously, take my advice and don?t bother.

If I could give this hotel a zero I would!
We book as part of the Paultons park short breaks, what a mistake! Upon arriving in the room, we noticed BLACK MOULD on the walls, door, window frames and curtains, damp walls, filth everywhere! The cleaner must need their eye sight checking.
The bathrooms was disgusting with the pipes, skirting and toilet seat covered in dust and hair. The taps would spit out little bits of rust when you ran the water. All around the taps and grout was filthy.
We were there for a 2 night stay, 4 hours from home and although I desperately tried to book a different hotel, I couldn?t find one to accommodate my family with a toddler and baby. When we moved to the second room, although thankfully not moudly, it was still filthy and covered in dust. Not even Fred Flintstone would want to sleep there. The beds were so hard.
I have put in a complaint with Paultons short breaks but they couldn?t help us with a new hotel, all they could do was offer a refund for our stay.
Breakfast was also less than desirable with the ?hot food? being cold in the serving dishes and the continental breakfast had undercooked pastry?s. Your safest bet was a bowl of cereal.
The manager we dealt with did try and help us and was clearly embarrassed but it?s very concerning that they either aren?t aware of the state of the rooms or just don?t care.
The hotels face is a beautiful thatched building but the rooms are located in a poorly constructed extension, single glazing and a flat roof with shed felt.

Very disappointing. Booked a table for lunch, but didn't need to as it was nearly empty. Ambience on arrival was superb, lovely thatched building with modern interior. Reception was poor and so was service generally, except for one person who was doing her best. Lunch menu was extremely disappointing, basically just fast food. Would you believe - a pub with no beer. Only one ale offered, and when I asked for a pint I was told they didn't have any!
Years ago before I retired I used to hold business meetings here which were always good, so I felt particularly let down taking my Japanese guest last week.
Parking: Good parking outside the venue but it was quite when I visited.

Family birthday meal for 8. Am celiac, was not Initially asked if anyone had any allergies etc. very limited menu was not what is advertised online, when asked was told that is Sundays only. Opted for naked burger, chips and salad. Chips ok nothing great and burger overcooked. Others had plain pizza (not nice left most of it) and burgers. Asked for dessert menu and the main menu appeared. Declined scoop of ice cream was £3. Think we were an inconvenience as there was a wedding party on site so May have had limited kitchen capacity.

Staying in the Potters Heron hotel for the stay (which is lovely) we would naturally choose their restaurant. This was mediocre at best. The food was unimaginative, all the food we could have easily cooked at home. It tasted okay but for a restaurant it was very underwhelming. What's worse, it was very expensive for what you got, especially the kids meals (almost £10 for a very basic child's Mac and Cheese). The service was polite and friendly, but slow. Lengthy waits for the food, although the front of house staff did apologise for this.Despite staying at the hotel, we won't be visiting for dinner again, and will be looking to visit elsewhere local in the evening.

A bit over priced and had to send the way undercooked poached eggs back. It was OK.

Let's start with the positives:- We were a large table (12) and despite that, the service was quick and friendly. We were never left waiting.- The location, decor and vibe were all lovely also. Now the reason for the 2 star review:- The food and coffee were both quite disappointing. The main issue with the food was seasoning, of which there was none. I and a couple of others had the meatballs in tomato marinara, but the meatballs themselves were dry, bland and severely lacking salt. The tomato marinara was again lacking salt and tasted like tinned crushed tomatoes, nothing else. For mains I had the roast half chicken which was honestly enormous (not a complaint!) which came with potatoes, some vegetables and savoy cabbage. The best part was probably the cabbage as again, no seasoning. Post-food I asked for a double macchiato which is a short espresso drink, this was served in a large cappucino mug which meant it went cold very quickly. The espresso extraction was also a little weak. For the hefty price of £33 I sadly expected better. 0 complaints about the staff, they were all excellent.

Visited for the Christmas afternoon tea, mediocre at best, definitely not worth the price. It was not the usual level of presentation or quality. Service was lackluster and after being left for ages after asking for the bill, we asked again and was then directed to reception in the hotel to pay. We were then given the incorrect bill which took so long to sort. Definitely gone downhill.

We went here for a night out, and the food was awful, the steak we ordered was gritty and there was only three mains on the menu. After that, the bartender and the waitress had a full blown argument in front of us.Everything but the drinks was disgusting,I don?t recommend going to eat dinner but they are good at afternoon tea.

Dissappointing visit to here today there was extended waits between food courses and the main courses came out luke warm not the standard that I would expect from an expensive
