Not bad little pub right in the heart of Alton

Absolutely appalled at how my friend was treated by both manager and bar staff. She had her wedding reception there, and it was just an absolute shambles. Would not recommend at all.

Was really unhappy with my experience at the Wheatsheaf in Alton, to start off with the toilets were grim and not clean, there was no toilet roll in all 3 ladies toilets.wee on the floor and had a horrendous stench.
I was there a long period of time for an event , I felt uncomfortable as a male member of staff seemed very rude and made me uncomfortable, I was given weird looks that made me turn the other way, even in the main building it wasn?t clean there was food on the floor from previous days, it was no a pleasant experience and from that I will definitely not be coming back and will tell people to not go there as it?s not worth the money nor uncomfortableness I had to feel
Think a hygiene company really needs to go see this place as it is run down and dirty

Quiet Thursday visit, but friendly, lots of TVs for sports, darts and automated dart virual setup which is cool. Chef was brilliant, made us some lovely fresh food, and tailored it to what we wanted! Recommend the food, looking forward to trying the roast!

Awful experience from the service. To start the wine bottle we ordered was off, it is fizzy, when going back to ask for a replacement we were confronted with an extremely rude lady who flicked the bottle top off and made me feel upset and threatened by her response. Do not visit this pub.

Home made curry from the oven and a chicken piri piri burger were exactly what we needed tonight. Lovely staff. For a simple honest bit in the local pub, this is it.

Had a pint of Doombar ale, the pub was empty.
Visited at about 5.30 on Saturday. Just had the one beer then left.

We chose this pub as a middle point for our family meet up. The staff went above and beyond for us all, catering for our son who is coeliac and my father in law, whose 95th birthday is on Tuesday. The cakes were a very lovely and touching surprise from you, and we very much appreciated it. The food was also great and your hospitality too! Thankyou, again guys. We will return. ?

Went to the Wheatsheaf for the reception after our registry wedding on 09.02.24. Service and food (buffet) was great. Always was attentive and welcoming to us and our guests. Decorated the table and area for us. Food was enjoyed by all! Thanks so much for being part of our special day!

The kitchen had an issue with food supply which the bar staff and kitchen staffed discussed at the bar.No issues until we over heard this from our table, coming up with excuses to give us as to why they couldn?t serve food. They didn?t have enough time to defrost the food we ordered we heard. They proceeded to tell us the extractor fan wasn?t working and we could have a refund, not an apology, just a refund. After mentioning politely to the bar staff, we were called rude not directly, but once again we can hear everything from our table.10/10 would recommend
