Visited here after ordering school shoes for my son at another Clarks but the wrong size was decided on so I needed to return them as the size was too small. Charlotte the manager was so extremely helpful and was so knowledgeable as my son is difficult to size due to his wide feet, he needed a bigger size with insoles - something only a more experienced staff member would know, which Charlotte helped us with. Would definitely really visiting this store if you want to be confident of good customer service!

I have recently visited Clarks shoe shop in Alton on two occasions. On both of my visits I was looked after by Charlotte who is very nice helpful and patient with an indecisive purchaser. Although I live in Guildford I will travel to Alton the next time I need new shoes due to the great service I received.

Staff were so friendly and knowledgeable - my 1 year old loved her! I learnt a lot about baby shoes I didn't know. Will be coming back for her next pair of shoes.

Visited with my 3 year old yesterday for some shoes. The lady who served us (I?m so sorry I can?t remember her name, but I know she wasn?t the manager of that helps and was the only one on the shop floor) was absolutely brilliant. She was great with my little one and I really felt like she took the time needed and delivered a fantastic service. It?s certainly not easy with 3 year olds and she made the whole experience a really great one. We will return.

I came in on Saturday, I didn't find the shoes that I wanted but I was assisted by a wonderful young lady called Lucy, she was fabulous. I will be coming back!

Charlotte at Clarks Alton was so kind today. I went in with my autistic son who is not a fan of having his feet measured. She was so patient, helpful and understanding. Thank you Charlotte!

Good quality shoes I bought. I got some new school shoes for my nephew before his school started again, as a birthday treat for my sister. He?s 16 and a size 5, and is unable to do laces, so I get Velcro shoes. And last time I came in, they did not have velcro shoes in a size 5 for my nephew. But they had a standard fit, and a wide fit. I bought both just in case, and refunded standard fit as we found it didn?t fit. And found out, after measuring his feet again as they didn?t fit, that my nephew had gone up half a size, and is now 5.5. As standard polite service too. And good price.

Not sure if he's still there but been in a number of times over the last couple of years and the chap who helped us (Ben) has always been great. Super good at dealing with the kids and was very helpful when we had some issues with a particular pair of shoes. Nice to have a Clarks in Alton, even if it's not the biggest of stores.

UPDATED POST- my previous good review was soon disappointed returns to this store.Now run by 'children' who have no idea what they're doing, can't answer simple questions and can't measure kids feet. They are far too busy flirting with eachother or having a chat about the weekend ahead. Shame as the guy before was fantastic! Haven't seen him again. Must have been taken by another company for his great customer service skills. Shame as I like the shoes. Alton Clarks- sort it out please, let it be run by trained adults!I came in to have my toddlers feet measured on Tuesday 22nd around lunch time. Unfortunately I didn't get the name of the lovely man serving us. He was great! My toddler usually hates having his feet measured, as everywhere we've been (including other Clarks stores) the assistant never seems to like children or have any idea of how to measure a small child for shoes. The service we usually receive is them gripping my son's ankle and forcing his foot in to measure, all the while telling me to hold him still! After many many arguments, bad reviews and a son with anxiety to having his feet measured I can now say I've found the place to go and the person to see! The lovely man welcomed us in, saying hello to my son (more importantly) and his whole overall service was kind, calm and focused on his customer (a toddler) was so pleased. My son actually sat still and let him measure his feet! Thank you! I hope from the date and time the management can work out who the assistant was and thank him for me!
