I had prawns in tomato sauce, and they had no flavour other than chilly. I had this dish in many different restaurants, and this, by far, is the worst I've ever tried.
It was followed by a goats cheese salad, which was equally uninspiring. The cheese was the only flavour I could taste in it. It had a few tiny pieces of courgette and aubergine strewn over it and a few tomatoes. In this day and age, when salads offer a symphony for the palette, it is disappointing to see there are places that still serve flavourless lettuce leaves sprinkled with few pieces of vegetables.

Stumbled across here by chance and so glad we did, a warm welcome and a warm restaurant on a chilly day. Staff were attentive and genuinely friendly and the food was wonderful.
Definitely will return the next time we venture to Alton.
