Lovely pub and beautiful location. It?s a yearly tradition for us to go there after a tough few weeks working at a nearby festival.
Food is exceptional and the staff are friendly. Both garden and inside seating areas are full of charm and character. Worth the trip off the main road any time!

My wife visited the Bush PH with her friend on Friday and insisted we took a drive out to visit again on Saturday.
Stunning location and excellent service , Simon behind the bar was the perfect person to meet the public as they enter , he even did a trick or 2 with the bottle opener ?.
The young girls helping were also very friendly.
We were so impressed we drove out again on Sunday but we were unfortunately too late for food so we are going back on Saturday for a nice meal .
A very friendly oasis at the end of the lane
10 out of 10 , I would thoroughly recommend a visit .

I organise a group to visit a different pub once a month.
We came on Thursday and I was surprised how few cars were in the car park
The greeting was fine but the service very slow and we had to ask to place our order and for the bill
One person ordered chicken which was greatly undercooked and almost uneatable I had the steak and ale pie which which clearly had shredded steak and not pieces
Our experience was not great so it is sadly unlikely we will be with you again
We have had so many very good times at the Bush in the forty plus years I have been in Winchester so it was disappointing

Food was ok. We had to wait a bit. Shame as it's a nice old pub.

What a lovely welcoming pub set in a wonderful location. Very friendly and great staff who went above and beyond to meet mums needs. The food was absolutely amazing and the steak and pie is truly great. We would definitely go back again when in the area.

We chose this pub as lunch service last orders a t1430 hrs was unlike many other pubs in the area.
The village of Ovington is reached through wooded lane and the pub is in idyllic setting on Itchen River which unfortunately is no more than a stream.
It was a sunny day and the outdoor tables had attached bench seating - not very appealing or comfortable and the need to climb over to be seated,Also the umbrellas were not to be seen.
We had booked in advance inside the only table next to window overlooking garden
It was a consolation but notwithstanding the near proximity of the tables in a somewhat cramped dark low ceiling old fashioned interior.
The food was standard pub fare nothing eclectic or innovative and a range of puddings in strict sense of the word and not dessert in European sense.
The pork T bone was tender and flavoursome but literally smothered in the mustard sauce with a very dry apple mashed potato which was no means fresh

Great pub and restaurant, cater for gluten free options, service very good. If the weather is good, some great walks nearby by along the river Itchen. I would recommend this pub for sure.
