Big spacious pub with tables nicely spaced out. Children loved the magician who was walking round the tables. Good choice of food at sensible prices served quickly and nice and hot. One of the better pubs in Hungry Horse chain. Hotel on site which we didn't use. Nice big car park and close to M58 /M6 junction so ideal for meeting up.

The room and service was very nice. However, the location was quite hard to get to because it was behind a pub (Uber drivers struggled). Overall great experience.

Perfect location, no frills service, but the rooms are just ok, certainly needs a lick of paint and a bit of an upgrade.

Have visited here on a number of occasions due to having friends in the area. We do enjoy it here as its local to our friends & allows fur babies (Dog). The room we had on this occasion was clean, tidy. Although the bathroom was very tired, mouldy broken wood panelling, mould all over the tiles and around the tap and especially the towel rail. On this occasion we had a motorway facing room so was really noisy, dark and hot although we did use the fan that was in the room. There was a strange damp smell in the corridors [like damp rag] which was a little off putting when walking to your room. Friends who also stayed complained it did smell in their room Staff were amazing especially the lady on reception who checked us in (cant remember her name). Staff were also friendly in the pub although breakfast was a little disappointing and no microwave to warm up croissants, although one of the staff did warm them for our son. The free Wi-Fi didn?t work very well. We would definitely stay again as its great value for money - although the rooms could do with a refurb as a little dated.

Cheap and cheerful. Food is ok, had some bad meals but generally ok for the money. Tables inside and out. Not really any areas to entertain kids unfortunately

Absolutely atrocious hotel. Mouldy ceilings, mouldy bathrooms, dirty walls, smelly and soft furnishings have mould and dirt engrained. I was booked to stay here for three nights Mon - Thurs (1st week in July 2023) and arrived at 8.45pm. I quickly popped my case and bag into my room, No.10 and dashed to order dinner before 9 pm at the pub attached. I took my dessert back to my room and switched on the light to see lots of mould patches on various areas of the ceiling. It had been painted over to hide it but very badly indeed. I then looked in the bathroom and found mouldy broken wood panelling and mould all over the tiles and around the tap/handrail areas. The shower curtain had not been cleaned and had brown stains/ dirt at the base. I left my dessert and went out to raise my concerns about the room's condition. I asked the desk clerk to change my room and I went to check another room 21. It had a strange ceiling with cracks and a bad repair job for a leak- above the bed. The bathroom was worse than the one in room 10. I asked for a manager to come over and see the rooms as I was not happy at all with the levels of cleanliness - dirt, grime, smells and basic things I expect from a hotel - ie a room that one can sleep in. The pleasant desk clerk and I then looked at another six rooms along with the Pub/ Hotel Manager - Josh. Josh and the desk clerk came to the other rooms and he thought they were ok but they were as bad as rooms 10 and 21. They had mould all around the taps, and mouldy broken wood around the sink and bath sides. The floors in the bathrooms were disgusting. Lino flooring was worn, dirty, split and cracked. To top it all the Manager actually stood in the centre of these bathrooms and the floor actually moved with the amount of water and unsafe rotted flooring underneath. I think he shocked himself! After visiting these rooms I explained I am there for business and need to rest and prepare for my next day's meetings. It was now gone past 10.30pm. The manager was not very forthcoming with any offers of support and I asked to chat with the Regional Manager to sort this out. I explained that I could not stay in the dirty, unkempt rooms as it is a major health hazard. Apparently, a message was left with the Regional Manager Andy but I have still not heard from him. Josh said he had to go to the pub to close up and left the hotel desk clerk to deal with me. I explained that I needed a new hotel and that due to this one being unfit for its purpose the hotel chain must pay for my new hotel. Josh said it was not policy and left. It was now 11pm! Thankfully the desk clerk called a few hotels after I had asked her - as the wifi reception was atrocious too so I could not check out other local hotels. I had to drive 16 minutes away from my business location for a good, clean night's sleep in the middle of Wigan Town Centre. At no point did Josh come and apologise and I am absolutely dumbfounded by this hotel chain that they are so flippant and blase about their hotel standards which I cannot rate at all. The Environmental Health and Safety Executive have been informed as well as the Greene King Head Office. This is an unacceptable way to deal with guests.

Stayed at the Mount for two nights while visiting family in the area. The hotel is dated and could do with some TLC, but the main problem was the rooms were too hot, there was a fan in the room but this was covered in dust and fluff, I had to try and clean it before we could use it. The room was not cleaned properly ( we found a wine bottle under one of the beds, )the kettle was full of water which looked like it had been there a while. The free Wi-Fi didn?t work unless you stood at reception which was inconvenient. We tried the breakfast the first morning and it wasn?t very good, the jugs with juice were near enough empty we had to ask for butter and bread so we could have toast. The cooked breakfast was not cooked well at all. The staff where pleasant, and helpful when around. Overall a very disappointing stay, it could have been better with some attention to detail

Our room had damp in it. The breakfast was over priced and the fried eggs were under cooked!

We have dined at the Mount quite a few times recently, if you use the offers that they have on you can get a decent meal at a decent price, the food has always been tasty and hot and the staff friendly, El behind the bar has always been friendly and helpful, even when I've messed up the offers on the menu, we will be calling in again soon.

I am exclusively reviewing Maria who was working the reception on June 10, 2023. We were dropped off by local police after our rental car broke down nearby after 9:00 at night. We are Texans trying to show our children this beautiful country and on our way to Workington to visit a friend. Maria did not have any rooms but went out of her way to make sure we had a place to stay that night even calling other places. She is a gem and I will be forever grateful for her hospitality and care.

The mount is an ideal place to find as it's just off the motorway at Orrell. The food is nice in the pub / restaurant & reasonably priced. The hotel staff were friendly & pleasant & gave all the information i needed, in particular the 2 young ladies on the reception desk, Courtney & Ella, were pleasant & helpful. I would recommend The Mount as a good base to stay, especially if you're travelling. Thanks.

Disappointed on Friday, drove up from Oxford. Went for a meal and the girl taking the order did listen and even though I repeated the order she still got it wrong by failing to tell me the fish fryer was broken, I ordered fish and scampi a special menu item.Hope she improves.Second day had no record of our 3.30. booking even though we had a confirmation.
