Seems like H&B is the only store where you can purchase Acidophilus capsules these days.The shop display in Wigan is well stocked but sits directly beneath the ceiling mounted heating blowers...!I explained to the lady in store that being "live" bacteria they are supposed to be stocked in a cool environment. I wouldnt be surprised if the entire stock was "dead".I declared that was the reason I wouldnt be purchasing today.She looked at me a little bemused but made no comment. ?Thank you for your reply below, however I maintain that Acidophilus should be kept in a cool environment to preserve its life.Every piece of literature on the internet explains just why this is essential.Note I did not say refrigerated, just cool. The stock is not currently being kept in anything like a cool environment being placed directly in a stream of warm air from the fans above.Sadly, if this reply is indicative of your product knowledge I will not be returning to your store.

Holland & Barrett is a large chain of Health foods in the United Kingdom, with stores around the world including in UAE and France. I visited here today, while shopping in Wigan having noticed this store does look quite nice, with the newer, more modern layout which Holland & Barrett seem to be rolling out, which is similar to the store in Manchester's Trafford Center. This store is quite small but it does seem to have a good range including for gluten free items, I even noticed the Clive's Pies available for £4.99, which still were pricey and some biscuits available, but these were just the horrible biscuits coeliacs get on prescription anyway and were not worth buying, let alone getting for one of your units from the NHS. As stated above, the store did have Chilled foods. The staff seemed helpful to point out gluten free, but in one way they seemed to pressure me into looking and buying, and rushed me around a little. This store is okay, but some items are really expensive and simply not worth buying and this store really needs to take a look into both its' pricing and range to make the most of this store, and increase its range of clients, but for now it isn't fantastic and as a store, it doesn't stand out as much.
