I have been twice into the Wigan office with my mother in law, who recently lost her husband . On both occasions when we needed help with my father in laws account , we were told to just go away and ring up the relevant departments. I feel that the staff/policies of the Halifax leave a lot to be desired and the staff are not very empathetic or customer service friendly . I feel that if I?d not been able to help my mother In law with the calls or on line details then she would have been unable to do what was needed The staff obviously were not bothered

I called in Tuesday 10th December to make a deposit and spoke with Denice about something better to do with my money as it was in a current account and she helped to put it in a saver account. She was so helpful and understanding, she explained the different options and very kind. I would recommend anyone to pop in if they need any information and I would like to personally thank Denice for the kind approach and understanding it made me feel very comfortable as a Halifax customer and certainly boosted my day. Pathetic. Keep closing the branch and reducing opening hours for NO REASON. ( A customer having a cough several days earlier does not count). If Halifax want to keep shutting their branches you may as well sign up for one of the online banks with more competitive rates, or one that will stay open and support the community, rather than just posturing.
